Re: Continuing the jack/pipewire debate...
Running Pipewire 0.3.83 here and with the Pro profile I now have the same latency as I had with Jack (using a Scarlett 6i6) combined with the flexibility and features of Pipewire.
Well done @wtay and team.

Re: Continuing the jack/pipewire debate...
X is abandonware. Last release of libX11 was Jun 1 01:27:18 UTC 2023 Last commit to the repository was 1 week ago. This year there was 60 commits to libX11 repository, seems huge for abandonware. Yeah, have you seen those commits ? Mostly build fixes and NLS. Most of the commits in the xorg ...

Re: Continuing the jack/pipewire debate...
I am old and are allowed to say ... Pipewire is nearly as good as jack Wayland is nearly as good as X (and will maybe learn networking in the future) Flatpack is nearly as good as statically linked programs So hey, the new generation who is doomed to reinvent anything will be in 10 years there wher...

That's a good way to make sure it stays a one-man-show.

Re: Guitarix2 release version 0.42.1
I think we should review the demo banks/presets as the ones there are not particularly useful to help understanding how to build a rack There should be a bunch of "dry" presets ranging from clean to high gain but without any of the modulation effects. * Sparkly funky clean * Warm jazzy cle...

Re: Guitarix2 release version 0.42.0
@tramp I want to take the opportunity to thank you and the other Guitarix contributors for all of the great work you've done over the years. Guitarix is a great piece of software and you guys are a great example of what I think of open source (being an open source developer myself).

Re: Guitarix2 release version 0.42.0
That's fine. I would like a visual aid to see when the limiter is being triggered so that I know how to find the optimal level for the gain/volume knobs.

Re: Guitarix2 release version 0.42.0
First off: thanks for the release ! The improvement of the amp sim sound is definitely noticeable, especially in the high frequencies.
The only thing I find weird is the hard limiter that has been added, which creates a ducking effect when going over the limit.

Re: Focusrite Scarlett Second Generation
Any plans for mainlining this? Working on it! https://mailman.alsa-project.org/pipermail/alsa-devel/2019-April/148392.html I see this was merged into the ALSA kernel tree https://github.com/tiwai/sound/commit/9e4d5c1be21f0c00e747e92186784f3298309b3e and is now part of Linus's tree for Linux 5.4.
