Re: very frequent FFADO Xrun with Saffire Pro 26
I'm curious to see how this works out for Boorhin. I don't mean to hijack. I just saw firewire in the thread title, and I'm wondering how important the firewire controller and chipset is for firewire performance with linux. I know that with windows systems it was always recommended not to use the on...

Re: Anything I can do to improve firewire performance?
I switched back to the regular kernel and everything seems to be running well with playback only and about the same cpu performance.

Re: Anything I can do to improve firewire performance?
I found a post on this forum and at the Harrison Mixbus forum about how firewire devices can be ran two ways. It seems that the kernel has builtin drivers for firewire audio devices which need to be blacklisted in order to use the ffado firewire audio drivers. Following the instructions for doing th...

Anything I can do to improve firewire performance?
I'm trying to get an old M-Audio Profire 2626 working well with an old Lenovo W520 laptop. Everything seems to be working, but I'm getting some light clicking at playback. Changing the buffer size has no effect on this. Running an rt kernel also has no effect. Should I give up on getting this workin...

Re: Basic USB stereo line in/out device?
The firewire cable that I needed to connect my old firewire interface to my laptop finally arrived yesterday. The interface is working with my laptop, but I'm getting light clicking at playback. The clicking frequency increases when I set the sampling rate higher. I'm not getting any other artifacts...

Re: Basic USB stereo line in/out device?
The Behringer stuff looks good for this purpose. Thanks for the suggestion. I did some reading and learned that I should be able to use my old firewire interface (Profire 2626) with this laptop, so I ordered a cable for it and will try that first. I didn't think before that it would be linux compati...

Basic USB stereo line in/out device?
Can someone recommend a compatible inexpensive stereo line in/out to USB device so that I can record and monitor from my hardware mixer? Balanced connections are preferred, but unbalanced is ok too since it will be a very short run from the mixer to laptop. I tried getting along with a Zoom portable...

Reaktor 6, wine?
Anyone tried running Reaktor 6 in Wine? The Wine site shows a platinum status for Reaktor 5, but I didn't see anything for Reaktor 6. Are there problems between Reaktor 6 and Wine?

Re: Wine Wineasio woes, regsrv32: command not found
Woo ha, it's working. Now to test latency and see if I can decrease the xruns at a lower buffer setting.

Re: Wine Wineasio woes, regsrv32: command not found
The issue you're having with jack1 and jack2 and installing in different ways certainly sounds strange. The problem you're having with reaper though I have also experienced, also with manjaro. It was a while ago now an I don't think I managed to solve it - I had had a few other problems with manjar...

Re: Wine Wineasio woes, regsrv32: command not found
I should also mention that for at least the M-Audio Fast Track Ultra audio interface, I haven't seen the above info mentioned anywhere on the net. Specifically, I mean that it will only run full duplex with jack (not jack2). But at least on Manjaro when installing through pacman, first installing qj...

Re: Wine Wineasio woes, regsrv32: command not found
glowrak guy, I had the same issue with my audio interface and jack2 on AVLinux and Debian many months ago. Something happens between my interface and jack2 that just completely hoses full duplex for both alsa and jack. But I have it working now in Manjaro after much fiddling. In Manjaro using pacman...

Re: Wine Wineasio woes, regsrv32: command not found
This has to be a problem with Wineasio. So I reinstalled Wineasio, editing the PKGBUILD to change jack to jack2 and lib32-jack to lib32-jack2. Reaper now connects to Jack 2, but it will not run. I checked Ardour 5 just in case, and everything is fine there. When starting Reaper, I get constant xruns...

Re: Wine Wineasio woes, regsrv32: command not found
Ok, so this time around, I removed Cadence, which removed Jack 2 and Ardour 5. I reinstalled Jack and Ardour 5, and tested. Everything worked as expected. I then reinstalled Jack 2 directly, not installing Cadence and letting it pull in Jack 2. So now Jack 2 runs and ALSA runs with my interface, ful...

Re: Hello. Any Reaper users?
I have a thread going here on audio issues so far. I probably should have linked to it before: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=16299
