Re: Unubtu20.04 /linux-image-5.x-lowlatency, useful or not?

Real time is a question of timeliness, not speed. As long as the system complies with all time requirements, the so-called deadlines, it does not matter whether reactions occur within a second or a millisecond. Despite this definition, however, it has become commonplace that users of real-time syst...

Re: Another NOOB here....

:welcome: I've downloaded some 3rd party Plugins, can see them in their Linux folders, but I don't know how to include them in the DAW, so I can access them for a track. 1.) Create the hidden folders (you don't normally see them, they have a "." before the folder/file (e.g. ".lv2" ".vst" ".vst3")) -...

Re: RME AIO

The hdspmixer is elementary for the interface. The hdspconf can also be set with the alsamixer if necessary. The AIO has an ALSA module. .config - Linux/x86 4.18.12-rt Kernel Configuration > Device Drivers > Sound card support > Advanced Linux Sound Architecture > PCI sound devices │ │ < > RME Hamme...

Re: RME AIO

The UCX is Class Compliant so you don't have an hdspmixer but only the alsamixer. All extensions should work (I guess!). The effects in the mixer, the hdspconf as well as the audio measurement tools do not work. The AIO supports all I/O extensions, hdspmixer works. The effects in the mixer, the hdsp...

Re: Ardour + multi-interface setup

Take the "audioadapter". :-D But how to synchronize several USB Class Compliant Audio/MIDI interfaces in the same order after each reboot I have no experience. Should work similar to PCI/PCIe cards. ==> Whats the best implementation for multiple USB interfaces? https://forum.moddevices.com/t/whats-t...

Re: Alsa & Kernel Versions & Audio Interfaces

The "old" real audio/MIDI interfaces (PCI/PCIe cards with an ALSA driver ) installed in a sound card/an audio/MIDI interface send and receive the data byte by byte . USB class compliant audio/MIDI interfaces sends and receives the data block by block due to USB technology. USB transmits the audio/MI...

That sounds weird.
