Re: Burnout

I think Milo nailed it with the I am in charge . Effectively, despite all odds, it's really up to the person. To an unbelievable degree. The amount of 'power' contained within and without is great. By 'power' I do not mean a terrific power but rather a 'blooming' capacity of sorts, of fulfilling one...

Re: For ze German readers: article at amazona.de

World Domination. Fast. Almost ? Yes. Almost fast. There's a little village in northern France which will resist all attempts. As it is known to have done so in the past. It is well-known and even obscure German regions (1) have seen the illustrated histories of this small village, so there's no sa...

Not only because of the better translation I would use https://www.deepl.com/de/translator.

Re: Carla + Fedora = no love?

I think Melda should be ok now (LinVst 2.65) as I managed to come up with a better workaround for what it's doing. Also LinVst needs to be updated to LinVst 2.65 for kernel 5.2 and higher because of a bug, otherwise LinVst segfaults. Thanks. I might give it a try. I "might" because I tend...

Re: Linux computers which are fully Linux capable

https://system76.com/ Got a Gazelle recently. Am using dual monitors. They said to enable Nvidia by clicking on the option top left corner. I did. The laptop went into brick mode at reboot. Never booted back. Have installed Xubuntu 18.04 LTS instead of their pop_os thing that has gnome. Works OK, g...

Re: Carla + Fedora = no love?

I haven't checked what Ardour supports in terms on VST at the moment. VST is a software interface. When well-implemented, there are no questions about supporting this and that, but rather about plugins that do not have their side of the interface so well-done. For instance all Linux VST (u-he, Over...

Re: Carla + Fedora = no love?

Is this indeed a known limitation on Fedora, which would require a manual installation of Carla to fix? I think both fst.exe and dssi-wine do cover my (limited) needs for the moment, but being able to get it working with Carla would have been nice. For the very basics of running Windows VSTs, wine ...

Re: IK Multimedia 'group buy' 2019

I can also add something else. PsychicModulation gave me the latest drum machine, full version, as I mentioned Linux (unsupported), Bitwig, and a problem with keeping presets. Last week I decided to nevertheless buy it, as a support. Another thing, MDrummer by Melda Production As I mentioned Linux (...

Re: IK Multimedia 'group buy' 2019

My point was: don't want to spend money on windows stuff, because there is risk it does not work, like that free Spitfire stuff. I spend 1-2 hours trying to get it even installed, and no. Sure, I can live without it, but if I would spend 150€ to something, I really would be mad not to be able to us...

Re: IK Multimedia 'group buy' 2019

Not to mention the actual folders where Windows plugins are getting installed by default: it's up to the vendor, so just about anything goes.

Re: IK Multimedia 'group buy' 2019

Holy moly! That's complicated. A collection of errors can occur whilst trying to install some needed piece of Windows software in Wine and even then you still haven't got the plugin itself and its libraries... Pffff. I'm sorry: but this sort of trouble would be a reason for me to look for a free Wi...

Re: IK Multimedia 'group buy' 2019

Wait a minute. Do the IK Multimedia's VST plugins come w/ a Windows installer? I hate those with a passion. Then you will not get far. If a Windows VST is simply a .dll file then I can place it in ~/vst and it'll work in Linux. I think that Windows users won't like those installers either. If you s...
