Re: jam618 - sketch

I find it very good until ~4 min or so. Then I loose somewhat interest as the track is going nowhere (the way that it is now, it's too long imo). But this also can be a question of the mix. For instance if the synth sequence that sets in at ~4:30 would be more prominent it would be more interesting....

Re: The Midnight / Hubble Space Telescope

First one is too short, second one is great. I like both of them. There is quite a lot of dynamic, maybe it would help to add a bit of compression.

Re: Waves Of Memories

I really like this one!! It totally reminds me on Zbigniew Preisner:

Script for connecting midi

I'm getting a bit tired of connecting my midi keyboard by hand and thought about making a little sh script to do this. After starting my PC I start my midi interface by hand. Then I start Carla by hand. After a2j -e I get these connections in Catia: http://i.imgur.com/xFclZwi.png In order not to alw...

Re: Something bit different: Possessed

Thanks 2 all. I don't have anything on Spotify yet. Maybe I make a Bandcamp account this year. On the hand I read that with Soundcloud premium it's quite easy to host the music on Spotify. I'll check how this works. Also not sure if some of the samples I used can be a problem. Mostly I use public do...

Re: Little Longnose

I like the track except of the pan flute :D Especially the beginning is quite atmospheric. The low range sounds a bit muffled.
What scale is that? It sounds russian to me.

Re: Active projects?

I'm not ^yet^ active, but I met some folks who where throwing away STACKS of used ChromeBooks a few months ago. They were re-selling a lot of other computer parts and systems, yet for ChromeBooks and similar, they weren't budgeting any time to learn how to refurbish them. It took me about 45 minute...

Re: USB Midi Keyboard - changes identifier

"Fascinating, James" said Spock. So if I understand it right then Linux (kernel) couldn't decide between the "vendor ID" and the "product ID" on how to name the device? And via said "GRUB hack" you told Linux to do not care? I don't know actually, but I think...

Re: USB Midi Keyboard - changes identifier

It seems to work now. The problem was the timeout. I added usbhid.quirks=0x09E8:0x0026:0x20000000 in GRUB, i.e. GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=“quiet threadirqs usbhid.quirks=0x09E8:0x0026:0x20000000” where the number 09E8 and 0026 is the vendor ID and the product ID of the AKAI. lsusb --> Bus 005 Devic...

It should be in the repos. Just install it and start it by running compton in a terminal. I put it in the autostart menu. It's quite small also and moving windows is smooth.
