Giving away Overtone DSP AF2-10 EQ plugin

The first person to message me can have my licence for the Overtone DSP AF2-10 EQ plugin.

It's great, but I am just not using it.

Re: Poll ZynAddSubFX new UI

Hello falktx,
What was the outcome?

Is it possible to install the new ui with kxstudio yet? Or do we compile from source or buy it?

Thanks!

Re: Intel CPU security flaw

Reading Intel's PR statement, it basically translates to:

There is no problem, and the problem effects all chip manufacturers, and the problem will be minor for most users, and the problem will be mitigated in the long term.

So hopefully fixes in the longer term will mitigate any CPU hit.

Re: Intel CPU security flaw

Good to hear. I don't want to lose 30% of CPU speed. This was really funny: "The fix is to separate the kernel's memory completely from user processes using what's called Kernel Page Table Isolation, or KPTI. At one point, Forcefully Unmap Complete Kernel With Interrupt Trampolines, aka FUCKWIT...

Has anyone else been following this? Can we expect a performance hit in music applications?

Re: Network connection with KXStudio 14.04.2

Hi, I have the same problem with newer hardware, whereas an older laptop works fine. I think that Ubuntu 14.04 (upon which KXStudio 14.04.2 is based) doesn't support my network adapters. It might be the same for you. For sure there is some solution, but I couldn't be bothered uncovering it and I jus...

Carla minimise to system tray

Hello,

It would be great if Carla could be minimised to the system tray - I always have one instance running through Claudia to EQ my headphones and it kind of gets in the way, and sometimes I close it by accident and then it terminates Carla.

Thanks

how to install kxstuio packages remotely (no internet access)

Hello I will be teaching a workshop soon on open source music creation. The workshop is in a very remote location with limited internet access. A lot of the participants will have Debian or Ubuntu installed on their machines but will still need to install certain software from the kxstudio repositor...
