Re: OCISLY

Lots of great sounds and the arrangement and production is nice too! What softsynths (?) did you use? Thanks for listening! I have used them for the poly line (chords) and the ending lead synth (at least I think so, it was recorded live). Poly was Zynaddsubfx, and the other one was Bristol synths dx.

Almost jumped on my seat when that first snare hit  nice track, reminds me of Aphex Twin's early work!
Good one, you clearly read my main influence  Indeed, there is some reverby feel from SAW. Tnx!

Re: Katydid Chorus Sync

Have you tried actually lowering the mids on the drums? I know the 707 has a good mid-range on both the kick and the snare, but for a mix the sacrifice could support the overall sound. So you do your mixing completely on-the-fly? Wow! That is amazing! I wouldn't even try. But I've never been much o...

Very nice synth line, danceable and radio-friendly. Love the freshness of the track.

OCISLY

An ambient acid track - if you can mention the two in the same sentence. Anyways, enjoy it over a cup of coffee.

Re: Katydid Chorus Sync

I love the vibe and the sounds. But I have a few questions about the mix. Personally, I think the drums are quite prominent in the mix, a little too much so. Did you use much processing on them? They sound rather raw. A good 707 sound. Also the other sounds both have a good frame of reference and s...

Re: Katydid Chorus Sync

Fine :D What is your composition process like? For this track in particular I was fiddling around the analog gear, punching stuff into internal sequencers - firstly the arpeggiator line. Then I used Ardour to synchronize hardware with Hydrogen and send notes of previously played pads (the poly part...

Re: hemolithin 086 - live tape take

So glad to hear you guys appreciate it :) This was a project of live recording from mixer to tape in a single take - as I had an old Sony stereo from the 90s with a crappy tape head, the end result had a considerable loss of frequency span. Liked it nevertheless. My setup is a series of workarounds,...

Another Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 3rd gen user here. Inputs and outputs visible and usable in Catia/Claudia, however no attempts made at accessing internal mixer.
