Re: mtf8 - the smile

I like the song a lot. Sounds great and catchy, in a nice composition. But ..... :D sorry ..... if i would have made it i wouldn't let the start tune dominate within the song. I would change the tone off it when the instruments jump in. For instance an octave higher, some lower volume, or this used ...

Re: How to get feedback from your music?

I understand the dilemma. On most forums the feedback is rather basic. Mostly you get al lot off complaints about nothing. If they know what gear us use it many times is because your gear would be no good. And don't ever tell it's made with linux on non-linux forums as then "it can't be good at...

Re: Advice on Stereo to Mono

I have made several cables for that to plug in stereo outs into my mono table ins. My table has extended settings by which i can connect hardly any kind off signal strength. Simply connect both left and right out at the tip of the mono plug and the ground from the stereo to the ground of the mono pl...

Re: Suggestions for motherboard/processor combo

I would go for the adviced game combinations. That is fast hardware and goes well for sound and video too. Which? I don't know. I used non-self-build multimedia and game dedicated computers with those fast sorts off hardware in it for that. I just don't like how hot the typical gaming rigs run, wit...

Re: Kraze - The party , bassline trouble.

The piano in my cover is the 4 front piano vst. That does not respond at all to me changing the pitch on Vestige. I tried. :( I like the vst, but it has no settings. That's strange. I can tune all my available vst's exactly like i explained above. Many vst's that are, among which a serious amount o...

Re: Recording without DAW

He wants no GUI programs. In essence, he would like to have a "recording service" which runs without any need for GUIs. Sorry. Not that familiar with the term GUI, but now you remind me.... I only know this one. https://www.instructables.com/id/Linux-command-line-audio/ But i guess...

Re: Kraze - The party , bassline trouble.

Can't get it sounding right, then tried moving all notes up, to make it possible to have that first lifted note one step up while staying in scale.(1/2 semitone?) Did you already tune the sample? Is that already advised? (didn't read all reactions) This is how it's done. Look at picture below. Firs...

Re: Why learn music theory?

Now this discussion has somehow turned to talking about right and wrong things on playing guitar. My excuses if i made that impression. To me it's not about right or wrong. My opinion is that anyone must do what he likes, as i also do . I read that you said you confronted some barriers in learning ...

Re: Recording without DAW

Don't understand the question exactly. You want to record in an easy way all sound you computer has to handle together? Correct? If so the answer is simple i think. All sounds which go over you soundcard can be recorded with the wonderfull easy Audacity. Only have to set the right IN for recording. ...

Re: Why learn music theory?

Well now, this is now where I disagree fully. While I agree that knowing 'tricks' can be useful, I feel that creating (not composing !) music is one fully free activity in which creation should be the prime star. Isn't that depending about what's to be composed/created? Does one need high classical...

Re: I feel like giving up with audio as a whole

Right. And i have no problem with (people) experimenting, but if you experiment you can wait for difficulties. That's why i stopped experimenting there were i need a stable computer for a certain important goal like music or administration. The rare times i experiment it is on a dedicated computer t...

Re: I feel like giving up with audio as a whole

Why should you use that ladish? Especially if is said it's old and no more supported. Keeping such software running is asking for problems. Ladisch? Sound routing? Why not use Jack? Or simply alsa? I plug in my midi-keyboard. And dedicate it to a wanted track within DAW and other music software. Tha...
