I just checked Ardour 6.5 with DG 0.9.19 compiled under Manjaro (which is also rolling release) and at least loading the GUI works without any issues and nothing hangs.
It must be something specific to your system then.

Re: Make humanization of drums by hand or leave it to DrumGizmo?
I agree with deva that what you should do is write the "idealized" version of what a perfect drummer would play and leave the humanization to DrumGizmo. This also separates those two things very well and you can easily change the aspects just by turning the knobs in DrumGizmo. You can also...

Re: Drumgizmo interpreting noteoff as low velocity hit
And I have a preliminary (and probably final) fix.
Should be in the next release then.

Should be in the next release then.

Re: Drumgizmo interpreting noteoff as low velocity hit
I can reproduce it here now! Actually, I didn't hear it before because it was so silent and the hits in the notes in the midi file were very short, but I can see it in the debug output now.

Re: Drumgizmo interpreting noteoff as low velocity hit
Thanks, version is 0.9.17 so will try updating. Experimentation has shown the following: * Issue is confined to MIDI from the Launchpad only. MIDI from other sources is fine. MIDI file from Launchpad attached below. * Other instruments triggered by Launchpad are fine - it is only DG that seems to r...

Re: Drumgizmo VST and Tracktion Waveform.
I just tested Waveform 11 running under Arch Linux and it works without issues with the vst version of DrumGizmo. I loaded a drum kit and played some notes and it was fine.

Re: Per Instrument swapping
The issue with that approach (meaning, somehow matching up the different kits) is that it might heavily compromise on quality and that's basically the one thing we are not willing to compromise on. I also would be really excited to have this feature, but I just don't see a good way right now. Except...

Re: Per Instrument swapping
The big problem with this feature is that all of our kits are recorded with different microphone setups. So, switching a snare e.g. from DRS kit with the one in Crocell kit would be problematic, because the output of the 16 channels of DG would be completely different. However, if you of course make...

I guess the samples that you use are not open such that you can share the entire drumkit?

Re: Excessive XRUNS with Ubuntu Studio, jackd and Ardour.
First thing, was to load the set in memory, but as anyone who tried may tell you, Crocell set will not fit in the memory of a regular system, so I had to chop it down somehow. Now, I have a Medeli dd 315 as MIDI input for drums. You can find it rebranded by Alesis, and a bunch of other lesser known...

Did we talk on IRC? Didn't you there report that for DRS kit it now works or do I remember that wrongly?

Re: Drumgizmo interpreting noteoff as low velocity hit
This should certainly not be the case.
Which version of DrumGizmo are you using (you can e.g. check in the 'About' tab)? The newest version is 0.9.18.1.
If you are using the newest version, could you send us a MIDI file where this is the case such that we can try reproducing it?
