There's no Wine staging in Ubuntu/Mint.

Wine staging is from winehq for all distros.

Yeah, in number of presets dexed with presets from net is unbeatable. https://www.flstudiomusic.com/2015/08/d ... esets.html

Totally another thing is that how many of those 3000 presets sound same :-)

Re: Greetings From BC, Canada.

LMMS is indeed great 'all in one' solution, easy to start.
If you are working with some other DAW, and just want synths with plenty of presets, ZynAddSubFX and Surge are free alternatives, and U-He has great non-free (some of them with zero cost) linux synths.

Re: EZDrummer alternative?

Linux has some drum machines and drum samplers. What the OP wants is a robot drummer. The only software I can think of is Backup Band : https://www.linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=19563 I've never tried it, but apparently it does have robots. I have tried, it is great, but not for this....

Re: EZDrummer alternative?

I understand. Haven't tried the drag & drop function, to be honest. I'm usually trying to use tools that are as "agnostic" as possible, so in this case, I would best advise to make your own MIDI loops or tracks or buy them from Groove Monkee, for example and just use the drum plugin f...

Re: EZDrummer alternative?

For me, MT Power Drum Kit works best, it even has the mixer which is similar to EZDrummer's: https://www.powerdrumkit.com/ For me drag & drop from MT Power Drum Kit to Mixbus/Ardour does not work, so it's usability is bit limited. From thread MT-PowerDrumKit Alternative ? you can find script wh...

Re: Storing projects on Google drive...concerns?

Anyways, I've been thinking about this as of late. Maybe I'm overly paranoid, but I'd like to hear your opinions on this. I keep copies of pretty much all of my completed and in progress projects in a Google drive folder, mainly because my old Thinkcentre box doesn't have a CD/DVD burner ... ...

Aha, thank you. Now I understand the demand.

LV2 works ok in Mixbus (I am Mixbus user).

Re: Percussion Synthesizer

I suppose having code that creates vst2 is ok, but distributing vst2 binaries without existing license is not possible?

This would be great. There is many posts which are great, but I feel replying message saying 'gr8' too stupid and spamming.

Re: LM Chat on IRC

i would love a channel that is like '#osm' but strictly on-topic messages. i prefer the umbrella term of 'free' over 'open'. i'd like it to be medium/format agnostic as well as OS-agnostic (though guess it'd be heavily *nix leaning). it would be a generalist hub chat channel, with links to speciali...
