Re: Out of My Sight - Melodic Metal

You did a great intro, and the song continues in an expected fashion, with nice vocal variations, and instrument arrangements 8) Thanks! Since it's your music, you can do all the possible choices, which I've read is good business practice in the streaming era, having both physical and digital media...

You can check if you have some libraries missing or conflicting versions:

Code: Select all

I checked jamulus, in instructions it says 'set samplerate to 48000'. Does not work when having Mixbus project with 44100 samplerate.

But if both ends would use 44100, would it work?

Re: Network chat with jack audio & screen share?

I'm thinking about the same... I think a mix of jitsi for talking and sharing screens and something like jamulus for audio would be a good solution. Jitsi audio is optimzed for speech and not good at audio, a webradio delays up to a minute, so the only almost realtime audio are jamulus and similar....

Network chat with jack audio & screen share?

Hi! For collaboration music projects, specially for mixing it would be handy to have some network chat with screen share and jack audio support. Idea is to share screen with DAW and send audio output to remote end, so we can fine-tune things online. No need for web camera, and not sure do we need ev...

Re: Enable 128mbps mp3 uploads of 4 minute songs/portions, max 1 per week?

I added in some links to music, much of which was made outside the wealth of first-world economies, to underscore the idea that there may be people of great talent, skill, and work ethic, that may not have money for blazing upload speeds, and money for monthly streaming accounts, and money for the ...

Re: Enable 128mbps mp3 uploads of 4 minute songs/portions, max 1 per week?

Maybe we can pick up some folks outside the mainstream. If you've seen some of Joss Stone's 'total world tour' videos, there are some amazing players out there, some with unique home-made instruments. Some great music, Quick look, not too much variety there. She did not sing metal or at least rock ...

Re: Mixing Corner

If somebody is going to use Waveform or another freeware software that is easily accessible (and most importantly not artificially limited), and we agree we accept freeware, I don't see any problem. Currently that is not allowed, and you are the one strongly speaking against it. This is key point I...

Re: Mixing Corner

Not sure why one would choose Radium for mixing multitracks, you cherry picked one of the worst case scenarios. That's why I avoided it for years at all costs. Luckly we have plenty of examples were the Linux software we need is just an "apt get" (or whatever package manager you use...

Re: Mixing Corner

Still from a practical point of view there is a big difference between using something that is readily available for most distros or requires just compiling/downloading a binary without any fiddling, to something that you have to setup and is not garantueed to work after an update of wine, or yabri...

Re: Mixing Corner

For practical reasons is good to use something that is available for everybody, FOSS guarantees on this are high, while freeware could work, often it doesn't come with all features enabled or impose artificial limitations, especially when we speak about DAWs or more complex projects. You were talki...

Re: Mixing Corner

As someone who uses Harrison Mixbus for mixes, could we change the software requirement to Linux software rather than just free software? This is Linux Musicians forum, not FOSS Musicians forum after all. This is not Harrison Mixbus forum either. Nobody was suggesting limiting options to Mixbus. On...

Re: Ardour Linux Audio - 2022 still no useful pitch correction plugin like Melodyne available ?

What does it use for registration? iLok or something else? Is the Windows browser required or you just happened to have it? It has its own registration (iLok is also option). I have that windows browser because I've had problems with various windows-plugin registrations. One potential reason for su...
