Re: Summing Box Hardware or Plugin

Are there other reputable summing boxes and articles discussing the debate between their usage in today's music studio?

Re: How do you choose your music distributor - e.g. CD Baby, DistroKid, TuneCore?

From what I remember, Routenote gets the majors. However, I'd read that those that distribute to many more are beneficial for EDM - e.g. Horus.

Anyone got more info on this:

I do remember you giving that option. I don't plan on going with them just because of how little platforms they distribute to compared to others. Regardless, its good to know of the many available options.

Might be, althou right now you can get your music to spotify, itunes, deezer, etc for free, but most of the people don't know it.

Re: How do you choose your music distributor - e.g. CD Baby, DistroKid, TuneCore?

That's odd. You'd still need a ISRC at least to make $, though, right ?

Re: How do you choose your music distributor - e.g. CD Baby, DistroKid, TuneCore?

I found that Sounddrop does free auto-splitting. It took a lot of emails and a few articles to get a handle on music distribution services and fees.

How do you yall deal with split-payments? CD Baby doesn't have it and Distrokid charges anyone with an account.

CD Baby is more expensive than others if you pay full price for distribution, in fairness they have a lot of services that add value..

What are you paying more for with CD Baby that's cheaper with DistroKid or Sounddrop? Also, how do you deal with split payments?

Re: How do you choose your music distributor - e.g. CD Baby, DistroKid, TuneCore?

Distrokid is ~$30/yr and ~$50 for it to stay on for life.

Anyone got good info on deciding between getting ISRC only from a distributor or buying your own ?

Re: How do you choose your music distributor - e.g. CD Baby, DistroKid, TuneCore?

CD Baby seems like the safe bet but DistroKid seems like the #2. This and how to handle the ISRC seem like the 2 biggest conversations few musicans are having often.

How do you choose your music distributor - e.g. CD Baby, DistroKid, TuneCore?

From most of what I've read, for a US-based musician, CD Baby and DistroKid seem to be the best I've found few people able to discuss in the detail the pros and cons between them. That's without including Tunecore. Distrokid seems to keep most of their FAQ's basic and one simply tells you to create ...
