Re: No sound in Firefox
I don't think there's even a need to disable it, it can run quite happily bridged to JACK. Unless you're concerned about extra resources etc. Thx sysrqer, thank you all for your replies :) And yes, I am concerned about CPU load... For now i'll leave everything as is, and when i really need sound fo...

Re: No sound in Firefox
These issues are currently easily worked around by disabling (not uninstalling, just disabling) pulseaudio when using jack and using another browser that still supports ALSA such as Pale Moon, perhaps Chrome? etc. In the longer term other browsers may also start dropping ALSA support but that is a ...

Re: No sound in Firefox
I had a lot of problems with jack while pa was running, maybe two years ago. Finally i got rid of pa and everything is fine since then.
Maybe I could reinstall it now and it may work properly, but I remember the nightmare

Re: No sound in Firefox
Hello all and everyone, that's an old thread, but I stumbled here because there's again no more sound in firefox, so maybe someone might do the same and find the answer : this time it is seems that's an update of firefox : from firefox's march (2017) update, pulseaudio has become a hard dependency, ...

Re: Audiobox1818 !VSL : nothing out !
Investigation continues : the audiobox works fine on another laptop with mint 18 (pulseaudio) (and i tried alsamixer and saw the normal screen with all the channels) Here is a snapshot of the alsamixer screen i get on KXStudio, because it's really worring me ! I thought i'd just have to unmute some ...

Hello everyone, I got a new Audiobox 1818 VSL (again, but that's another story...) and I tested it (running KXStudio) : worked perfectly ! A few days later, I wanted to use it again, and surprise : no sound ! nothing... I tested an input, and it works, i can capture. I tested the computer side with ...

Re: PreSounus AudioBox 1818VSL Working in Linux
Hmm I'd start with a lsusb, but it won't solve anything, just to check if the device is still detected.. i remember there was something buggy with usb3 ports/drivers and on my first laptop even the usb2 ports where managed by a usb3 driver apparently. i'm sorry i can't help you investigate any furth...

Re: PreSounus AudioBox 1818VSL Working in Linux
A long shot maybe, but do not hesitate to notify the kernel dev teams that there's something buggy with usb3 management, with a way to reproduce the regression... I did that already, but it might "up" the subject

Re: PreSounus AudioBox 1818VSL Working in Linux
I'm using a Komplete Audio 6 now, working perfectly so far.
Only 4 analog inputs, and preamps are definitely not the presonus ones, but at least it's working !

Re: PreSounus AudioBox 1818VSL Working in Linux
Yes, that's exactly what i got when i tried the audiobox1818VSL, even when i plugged it on USB2.0 ports, because my laptop actually hosts all his usb ports, 2.0 or 3.0 on a USB3.0 hub...
