Checkout Ardour, Qtractor, Rosegarden, OpenOctave, Renoise or any other real linux applications for once. I personally love Renoise and OpenOctave. edit: I just realized what a 'tard I am by not checking dates before posting... forgot to search for more "recent" threads... lol... I'm so s...

[SOLVED] LinuxMintKDE 17.3 + KXStudio [realtime/lowlatency kernel???]

So I've got everything set up finally, I have working audio from my M-Audio FW Audiophile, but now I need a realtime or low latency kernel... can anyone help, I'm not sure what will be compatible with this distro? I'd appreciate some direction, if at all possible! Thank you in advance!

Re: How to check JACK realtime priority

I think to check if you even have realtime capabilities you would

Code: Select all

sudo ulimit -r -l
, if the output doesn't look something like

Code: Select all

@audio   -  rtprio     95
@audio   -  memlock    unlimited

then you don't have a proper realtime kernel, then you can move on to checking jacks priorities...

Re: Are you addicted to a genre of music?

I don't have a favourite genre. Every genre has good and bad songs. The only genre I really can't stand is pop. Today's pop music? I can't stand them, either, but I do like Michael Jackson a lot. haha, yeah, I would have to agree, as a whole the pop genre sucks a monkeys asshole, there are some bri...
