A bit of fun

Set up a part with a fuzz guitar sound in Yoshimi, then on that part set an effect to EQ with 'B' set to 1 and 'T' set to Lp2. Adjust 'Q' to get a significant peak at the cutoff point but not enough for it to become too sharp or unstable. Connect up a standard MIDI volume pedal and MIDI-learn the EQ...

Re: Some disturbing news

It would be pretty ironic if the Microsoft purchase would result in GitHub loosing a ton of users. I have read somewhere that 68% of GitHub users are very likely to migrate somewhere else. That isn't ironic. GitHub is naturally teeming with open source buffs who want nothing to do with Microsoft wh...

Re: Yoshimi 1.5.8 released!

Preparing for LAC revealed some bugs, so I jumped on them - just in time to, so we now have V 1.5.8.2. We've had a few bugfix releases, but only once before gone on to a second one. Hopefully this won't happen again.

Re: Some disturbing news

If Microsoft does buy GitHub, then it immediately gains lot of information about a lot of developers, as well as all the code. It's not called 'slurp' for nothing.

Some disturbing news

Over on The Register there is a report that GitHub is in discussion with Microsoft, with a possible buy-out by Microsoft. If true, that would be a total disaster. That vulture has become dangerously 'friendly' in recent months, and considering their past history, I don't believe they have anything b...

Yoshimi 1.5.8 released!

V 1.5.8 - Kingfisher Bright flash of colour. The most significant changes in this release are all usability ones. At the request of one user (and agreement of several others) some of the microtonal settings are now MIDI-learnable, and appropriately highlighted. The CLI can now open and close instanc...

Re: Rainy etude on Salamander Grand Piano

Curious. Nice piano sound, but I'm not sure if the hesitancy is due to it being an improv (always hard to think ahead) or intended. Either way it fits the idea.
Lovely picture to go with it.
