Re: Using Hydrogen to play DrumGizmo's DRS Kit

Glad to hear you got it working! For Ardour and Hydrogen to sync, you need to put both on the JACK 'transport'. Hydrogen has a button for it on the top of the interface (J. TRANS) and Ardour also has a button for it at the top left - it might say 'Int.'. Use it to switch between internal transport a...

Re: Using Hydrogen to play DrumGizmo's DRS Kit

biggsy, I'm currently using local/linux-rt-lts 4.19.31_rt18-1 on Arch, using the coderkun-aur-audio repository - so my setup probably differs quite a bit from yours. I know there's a realtime config script that scans if you're using proper settings and hints you where improvements are possible, you ...

Re: Using Hydrogen to play DrumGizmo's DRS Kit

Hi biggsy,

Are you using JACK and a low-latency or real-time setup? Or plain ALSA?

Re: Using Hydrogen to play DrumGizmo's DRS Kit

There was something about grouping instruments, but if I remember correctly this is done by DG. Grouping is that if you hit the hi hat the previous hi hat note should silence. You can assign a 'mute group' in Hydrogen, for example putting open and close HH in the same mute group will effectively mu...

Re: Using Hydrogen to play DrumGizmo's DRS Kit

Nice to see people still using this :-). My home studio has been dismantled since then, should be back up in a few weeks though. I'll see if I can get around to putting a tutorial together. Thanks Marcel for working on this.

Cheers,
Michael

Re: Using Hydrogen to play DrumGizmo's DRS Kit

Thanks. How to use the files? The original works fine on this end (very cool and thanks), but not clear as to how these should function. When i try to open them i get an "Archive type not supported." Hi carlv, you can unpack the file Marcel provided with the command 'tar xzvf h2drumkitfil...

Re: Using Hydrogen to play DrumGizmo's DRS Kit

Great to hear some people are already liking it :) I'll put up the other DRS sets as well as soon as I get some time this week or more likely after the weekend, I want to start a project using the brushes myself.

Using Hydrogen to play DrumGizmo's DRS Kit

Hi everyone, This is my first real post on this forum, I hope I can contribute something with it. Basically, I've created a 'dummy' drumkit for Hydrogen which feeds MIDI to DrumGizmo, allowing you to effectively program drum patterns in Hydrogen using DrumGizmo's excellent samples. First of all: why...

Hello from Flanders, Belgium

Hi everyone, nice to be new on this forum, seems like a very interesting community for me to join. I'm Michael, 35, live in Flanders, Belgium and have been playing music / singing for slightly over 20 years now. Haven't been composing much yet, but I do have a nicely working Arch GNU system that I u...
