Using a realtime kernel means that the minimum standard latency for the kernel can drop from around 300us to around 90us, which is really interesting when you realise that a really good latency in jack is considered to be around 6000us. The work the RT stuff has generally helped over the years, but,...

Re: PiPedal/TooB Amp Project request for open-license ML and Neural Amp models

"Free software should be free like beer" Ironically, an MIT licenced project can be taken by another party and immediate closed sourced without the original authors consent and turned into a paid proprietary product. A GPL licensed one cannot. edit: I suppose once you drink a free beer the...

Re: I had an epiphany!

I've run Windows vm's in Linux on and off, and it does work well, although I don't think I'd do it for this as it's not a way I'd want to work. It is a great time to be using Linux though!

Funny thing is now they know they've been duped some are claiming to have been suspicious all along :)

1-0 for Pianoteq.

I'm not going to claim that I wasn't duped, but the idea of manually playing 20 velocity layers made my brain niggle. I didn't think about it too hard though.

No one using pipwewire is in this shitfest of a thread.

Re: Continuing the jack/pipewire debate...

So the summary of this thread as I understand it is: The devs say it's still a work in progress, the people already using pw are happy enough, the people not using pw are unhappy.

You can run MicroDexed on a Teensy. https://codeberg.org/dcoredump/MicroDexed

No plans for a pico version, there's an esp32 version somewhere. https://discourse.zynthian.org/t/microd ... o/1989/286

Re: PipeWire

I can't belive people are still bringing up the unix philosophy of "do one thing well" in a forum dedicated to the most monolithic apps available. Even Carla, jalv or Non are monolithic compared to the text utilities around when that idea was invented. Pipewire is coming along fine and is ...
