Re: Noob question regarding latency
If you're low on USB ports, you can use a hub for the MIDI instruments. Just avoid hubs for the audio interface. I'm very glad you brought that up. Given that there's very low voltage in a USB circuit and, by extension, in each USB port in a hub, you couldn't expect to run a USB-connected condenser...

Re: Guitarix Segmentation Error Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
I found a possible cause of Segmentation Error, which I didn't see mentioned in a cursory Google-search, and this literally happened not 10 minutes before I began writing this: I was modifying a preset I had made by adding Reverse Delay---which very well may have been a Calf plugin, though I didn't ...

Re: Guitarix Segmentation Error Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Hey there, tramp. Thanks for the reply. Even if I interested to know what exactly goes wrong, I wont annoy you with a debugging session. If debugging is less annoying than losing all of your presets, then I'll happily take the debugging. :D My guess is that you've enabled some of the calf plugins (r...

Guitarix Segmentation Error Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
I'm using the KXStudio desktop-environment of Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on a 64-bit Dell XPS L702X laptop. I was in the middle of tracking guitar using Guitarix and Audacity yesterday, when Guitarix suddenly crashed. Guitarix just quit and went quiet. Knowing just enough about Terminal to be a menace to myse...

Re: Rakarrack Won't Start in GUI; Terminal Gives "Segmentation Fault (Core Dumped)"-Error
Hmm. are you using 64 bit or 32? I may have to try this at home where I have a 14.04 install. Its working fine on my local 64 bit 15.10 install. I suspect just some combination of programs in your system are bringing out the bug. Rakarrack does some undesirable things in the code but works most of ...

Re: Rakarrack Won't Start in GUI; Terminal Gives "Segmentation Fault (Core Dumped)"-Error
ok its something with fltk. Do you have libfltk1.3 installed? I would try a: sudo apt-get install --reinstall libfltk1.3 and see if that gets you anywhere. ssj71, thanks again for responding. Here's the output from the install/reinstall libftk1.3: papabear@papabear-Dell-System-XPS-L702X:~$ sudo apt...

Re: Rakarrack Won't Start in GUI; Terminal Gives "Segmentation Fault (Core Dumped)"-Error
Gotten buggy?... Works OK for me. Do you have the kxstudio repos or are you installing what ever Ubuntu has? If not from kx I'd be sure to do that first. If the issue persists you can try and run it using the commands: gdb rakarrack r (Wait till it crashes) bt I'm fairly familiar with the rakarrack...

Rakarrack Won't Start in GUI; Terminal Gives "Segmentation Fault (Core Dumped)"-Error
Hi, guys. I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 with the KXStudio Desktop Environment on a 64-bit Dell XPS L702X laptop. I'm trying to launch Rakarrack, which I may very well be doing for the first time on this computer; I can't remember for sure. But let's say yes, to be safe; I have used Rakarrack on other com...

Re: Audio was fine yesterday; no audio today
That worked! It's fixed. Thank you all, again! For the record, for the next guy that this happens to, I opened Terminal and <My Username>@<My Computer's Name>:~$ rm -r ~/.config/falkTX <My Username>@<My Computer's Name>:~$ rm -r ~/.config/Cadence rm: remove write-protected regular file ‘/home/<My Us...

Re: Audio was fine yesterday; no audio today
Please never open your apps as root like that. Most apps write config files on close to save the user settings, and if you run them as root they will be saved with root-only permissions. I'm afraid you just broke Cadence config files and you won't be able to save data on it again. So now you have t...

Re: Audio was fine yesterday; no audio today
Catia doesnt need to be opened with root privilages so thats not the issue. Open up cadence and check that jack is started if not start jack and start jack and then start the alsojack bridge. Maybe Catia doesn't need to be opened in root when it's functioning normally, but typing catia by itself in...

Audio was fine yesterday; no audio today
I'm using an Acer Aspire One netbook with a 2GB RAM card installed. I'm running EXCLUSIVELY Ubuntu 14.04.02 LTS (all traces of Windows are long gone), 3.13.0-57-lowlatency kernel, 32bit architecture, with the KXStudio desktop environment. It's been working brilliantly up until today. As recently as ...
