Re: Not great news... AV Linux Forum shutting down September 1st

Best wishes. I know how you feel. I feel bad that I haven't had time to participate on these forums. Av Linux, Linux Musicians and the Ardour forum have been a very valuable resource for myself.

Re: The Incontinentals - "Brandy"

Been a while since I've heard that one. Very nice. The vocal harmonies are spot on.

Re: error at guitarix startup

Nevermind. I found the offending line in ladspa_defs.js in the config folder.

Another cover with my daughter

We did Crazy by Patsy Cline with my 10 year old daughter on vocal. We recorded in Ardour and I tried DrumGizmo and Dexed for the first time. The only plugins I used were x42 eq, Tap Reveberator in the bus, and Tap tremolo on the piano. Also noise-repellent on one track. https://soundcloud.com/pidruc...

Re: Cannot record any sound

I believe that the audiophile 2496 uses the same chip as the delta 1010LT which has 12 inputs. On the 2496 they just aren't connected to physical inputs. Your analog inputs are capture 1 and 2 and if I remember correctly, 9 and 10 are the spdif inputs and 11 and 12 are a mix of all inputs. I could b...

Re: Dave Clark Five cover

@ milo-I was browsing through a bit of the stuff you have on the page you linked. Nice site. Seems like you had the same idea as me. When it got too hectic with the kids to record my music, I just got them in on it. It was actually my oldest daughter's idea to record the first Christmas album. In th...

Re: The Digital Winter (LMMS)

When you're trying to write instrumental music and you come up with a melody like this, it's just golden. When I listen to it I hear this whole big 80's eurorock thing with guitar lines working off the melody and giant drums.

Re: Using Hydrogen to play DrumGizmo's DRS Kit

A couple of questions. When playing DrumGizmo with Hydrogen, do the humanize controls in DG work? I tried this with the DRS kit and I couldn't tell if they were having an effect. The humanize controls in Hydrogen were working. Also the bleed control didn't seem to have any effect. I had the older ve...

Re: Dave Clark Five cover

Thank you so much for that. I was originally thinking that I would get my older daughter to sing the lead and I would do the harmony as the harmony is a little awkward. I was impressed that she was able to learn it and the 12 or so chords. When I started recording the lead with my 10 year old, she s...

Dave Clark Five cover

I recorded this with my two oldest daughters. The younger, 10, did the lead vocal and the older, 14, the harmony. The older daughter also played the organ part. Kind of a tricky one to teach them as there is 12 chords I think with a couple of augmented fifths and a double augmented fifth or whatever...

Re: Manjaro?

I really like Manjaro. It's super easy to install compared to Arch. You would just have to learn to install things with pacman instead of apt. I think configuring it for audio is quite similar to Ubuntu.
