Re: guitarix.vst

Absolutely the same behavior at 48KHz. But I also tried playing a B1 on bass and surprisingly the issue does not happen at all (same as with a sine wave). My assumption is that this is because the pitch is more stable due to the extra string tension (typically 34" or more). Whereas on down tune...

Re: guitarix.vst

I've added the green light to the triangle indicators now. I also have increased the internal sample rate used in the tuner from 41kHz to 48kHz. Maybe there was some rounding errors during downsampling leading to the in-accuracy you described. Lower frequencies been harder to track anyway, so it ma...

Re: guitarix.vst

That's wired indeed. I wonder if you've the same issue when using the x42 tuna or other digital tuners? I also wonder if the tuner shows the wrong frequency, or if only the indicators loos precision? I will run more tests on the week end with the x42 tuner, and at 48Khz (also with a bass guitar). B...

Re: guitarix.vst

It's a lot more usable. I'd still prefer seeing the triangles light up green when in tune but at least it's readable (and precise enough with the dots). But I have found something weirder while testing: there's a possible accuracy problem when going lower than a 6 string guitar in standard tuning. I...

Re: guitarix.vst

Just tried the tuner and it is a very welcome addition indeed :-)
The visual cues given by the left & right triangles are a bit confusing though, I ended tuning by looking at the frequency.
Could you maybe make it more colorful or just put more increment markers?

Re: guitarix.vst

Hi Hermann, I finally had the time to do so more testing (Bitwig on Arch Linux): Sounds killer for thick metal tones (we already knew it but this is still worth repeating :-D) Preset loading and saving works great (including reopening in Guitarix standalone to organize the presets) The JCM800 that s...

Re: guitarix.vst

Wonderful, I've been wanting for this for ages - Thanks Tramp!

And we have also a pkgbuild for Arch Linux (also in early stage):

What about spinning up another Guitarix instance in parallel?

Re: Recommendation for MIDI Arpeggiator

Proprietary, but once set to loop mode the Renoise/Redux Phrases makes a very nice arpeggiator (midi controllable, harmonizing, presets, etc..)

Re: Pipewire configuration for low latency

Thanks, that is very interesting: none of the sub 10ms round trip latency figures were achieved with the stock Arch or RT kernel, but with RT-BFQ or LQX.
Also it seems that we can have now different buffer sizes between input and output - this might open the door to further tweaking

Re: Pipewire configuration for low latency

Not luck here either. The best I could achieve is 17ms round trip (Arch Linux) But...I found two things: 1 - How to set the freq & fixed buffer size dynamically (no pw restart or conf file editing needed): pw-metadata -n settings 0 clock.force-rate 48000 pw-metadata -n settings 0 clock.force-qua...

Re: how do I set WINE defaults to 128/48000?

I don't remember seeing a setting in WINE itself either. If you need low latency with WINE, then wineasio should be the way to go. This means that you will also have to use the Jack sound server -> this is where you will set the buffer size & sample rate (the wine application will be just a clie...

Re: PreSonus Studio 26c

The system itself is ok, it has an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U and performs generally very well. Audio tuning is also done, although I didn't go as far as wiping out all energy saving features - since I also do normal notebook stuff with it ;-) I have a strong suspicion that the bottleneck is the usb bus itse...

Re: PreSonus Studio 26c

Here's a quick latency test with jack_iodelay & jack2 (Synchronous mode), using the supplied USB type C cable, the stock Arch kernel with threadirqs and the performance governor: configuring for 96000Hz, period = 64 frames (0.7 ms), buffer = 4 periods 551.224 frames 5.742 ms total roundtrip late...

Re: MIDI pitch to CC - Akai MIDIMIX Button Event Routing

I can answer that part: with the editor running on wine you can reprogram the buttons to send midi CC for example, but doing so will basically screw up up the led lighting. The reason is that the button lights are purely host(software) controlled, so they won't light up unless you enable midi feedba...
