Re: New to MIDI and Linux. I'm Dying! :(
I agree to about anything written above my reply. If your new to Linux, the best tip might be to forget about jack for now. Jack makes things more complicated. I am using LMMS on Linux (openSUSE) and just use the default sound system which is pulse audio. This kinda works out of the box, not much if...

Re: bucket pops VST (LMMS)
Somebody on the LMMS forum is gonna have a look at this vst to see if he can get it to work in LMMS. For those wondering why this is worth mentioning, its one of the LMMS devs. Happy thoughts fingers crossed. :) Should at least give a definite answer if it me or LMMS. I think the dev recognized it a...

Re: bucket pops VST (LMMS)
Thank you, then the problem is probably LMMS.
The way you automate knobs in LMMS does not work for all knobs on this synth.
One that does not work is the play stop button, which does work when I click it with my mouse.

bucket pops VST (LMMS)
https://www.fullbucket.de/music/bucketpops.html I don't understand how to use it, or does it maybe just does not work 100% in LMMS? In LMMS through vestige I can load the vst, and it works when I click the play button with my mouse. Been trying to drag that play button into an automation track, but ...

Re: Trying to make something Jean Michel Jarre could have made.
Thank you, so its a sus not a dimished. :) Maybe one day I will remember those names. Right now a bit stuck. Starting to understand better how what I am doing is not really jarre like. The song structures being the biggest issue. I even have a bit of verse chorus structure. The main problem though, ...

Re: The state of Linux DAWs in 2021?
Hi, as far I can tell you, since you already know about Zrythm, I am not sure new DAWs with a long-term vision have been released. An up-and-coming program is Valhalla tracker (https://github.com/rdybka/vht). It is more of a modern tracker than a DAW, in line with programs like Tutka. Ardour has gr...

Re: Trying to make something Jean Michel Jarre could have made.
It was when I was messing around with a waltz, I noticed how much my hearing had improved. I had put in the notes ( used a midi file, but did not copy paste, used the midi file as sheetmusic) When I listened to it, I noticed I had made a mistake some were, but instead of checking the midi file again...

Re: Trying to make something Jean Michel Jarre could have made.
Last night I had a funny problem.
I think I had made a diminished chord and could not resolve it.
Nothing I tried, sounded right after that chord.
In my mind I was hearing the answer though. Something to investigate and probably watch some vids on how to use diminished chords

Re: Trying to make something Jean Michel Jarre could have made.
Thank you, but I had to start LMMS and place a mayor chord to fully grasp it.
Got a bit confused at first, because I was also counting the keys, not in the scale. ( like c sharp (or d flat) )

Re: Trying to make something Jean Michel Jarre could have made.
I am starting to under stand 7th chords, all though part of me wants to start to rant about who came up with those names. It uses 4 notes, now why would some like to call that a 7th  If you want you can call C7 'chocolate cake' and call G7 'banana pie'. But if you do that don't expect anyone ...

Re: Trying to make something Jean Michel Jarre could have made.
Hey @Gps, I have just listened to test3 and the thing that immediately struck me is that you holds the chords very long, slowing down the progress. I expected the chords to change in double time. I am an impatient listener. Maybe a mix could work with the first or lat chord double the length of the...

Re: Trying to make something Jean Michel Jarre could have made.
Been listening to Jarre allot since my last reply in this topic, and noticed something interesting. Some parts hardly qualify as music, because its more just sound, were music pops out of. I am starting to under stand 7th chords, all though part of me wants to start to rant about who came up with th...
