My Arturia Minilab midi keyboard, for instance, is. I can configure it just fine by running its Windows utility w/ Wine. :)

Re: Glad to be here.

I live within 5 miles of a university with a computer science club that supports Ubuntu.Ubuntu Studio is distro of choice for me.I intend to build a desktop computer to support Ubuntu Studio.I require input as to what hardware would be best.I've done some research in the past and am particularly in...

If I'm not mistaken then you can set that as default for all video's in Kodi.

Could you post (yes, yet another time, sorry) the output of:

Code: Select all

 cat /proc/asound/cards

If your Emu card is not in there then it is not (yet) recognized.

I don't think we're connecting. What command gives the output that you posted and can you post the output of the commands I advised? I can't do anything with this I'm afraid.

Re: Does any driver between DAW and audio inferface..?

This is incredibly hard to follow. The card is recognised by the looks of it, if you open qjackctl or cadence is it listed there as a device you can choose? If he starts Jack for the wrong audio card then it won't. I think we need to guide him step by step. I.e. first we convince him that there is ...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 dead silent in Debian (no PA)

So, what next. Well, I try to start jack, say, by hand, with something like: jackd -R -d alsa -P hw:USB -C hw:H2n -r 48000 -p 128 (nevermind the Zoom H2 which I use for capture , it plays no role here). Jack's output is (nonverbose) like this: $ jackd -R -d alsa -P hw:USB -C hw:H2n -r 48000 -p 128 ...

Re: Most used Linux distribution?

I switched to LMDE nad never wanted to have anything to do with Ubuntu again. (LMDE = Linux Mint Debian Edition) I love Debian too. Used the Stable edition of it once (3.1 Sarge) but it had packages so old that I couldn't install software from "external" repositories. I don't mind softwar...

Hey! Yes some of the things has becomed little bit complicated. Anyways PD is a visual programming software that i barely know from windows. Now I got to interact with qjackctl. Only thing I have to call it from cmd line cause it does not appear in the menu bar in the "normal" apps. So, b...

@ Linuxmusician01 As far as I can tell you're mistaken. alsa-firmware is a package, and like any other package it could be installed from a repo or built from source. AV Linux comes with alsa-firmware pre-installed. @ Red Leader The fact that lspci showed the Emu card means it isn't completely frie...
