Re: Carla Internal plugins

You are right, my fault.

Anyone knows a plugin similiar to audio file, but that can be triggered with a midi message?.

Re: Carla Internal plugins

And why both plugins have a midi input port?. Maybe can they be triggered with a midi message?.

Re: Mainstage-like setup

Any advance in this topic?. I have to say that I have never used mainstage, but I am looking for some free software to use in live performance, with the ability to send metronome to differents output channels depending on the time of the song, adjust the figures of the metronome, play some samplers,...

Re: Multiple soundfonts in Carla

Frank, thanks for your time. Maybe I'll give a try in the future to make my own soundfont; I thinks that's could be a good alternative. What do you use for this task? Swami? With regards of Midi Layer, AFAICS it does not work with jackd, and I'd prefer to work with it. What I use instead is mididing...

Re: Multiple soundfonts in Carla

Ok. Mainly I wanted to know if exists something like that; the other was just an idea. So I will continue with Qsynth for now.

BTW falkTX, I have just started to use Carla two days ago; I must say that it looks very promising, I feel really comfortable using it.

Thanks very much.

Re: Multiple soundfonts in Carla

ssj71 I know that program changes are working. What I wouldn't like to do, is to edit soundfonts to place all the sounds I need in only one. That's because I am always trying an using new ones. Besides, I have plenty of memory in the machine, and mididings scripts preconfigured that let me choose on...

Re: Multiple soundfonts in Carla

Of course I can load more than one, but this is not what I want. I think that I was not clear enough. What I want, is a way to change the sound with MIDI bank and program change messages for live performance. For that, I would prefer that the component sending MIDI messages (mididings in this case),...

Multiple soundfonts in Carla

I have seen that in Carla, soundfonts can be loaded one by one. The Fluidsynth Calf plugin allows to load only one soundfont too. What I would like to do, is to load several soundfonts together and then control them with banks and programs changes from an unique MIDI connection. Something like that ...

Re: Carla - no save for LV2?

Yes I do. I installed it today from kxstudio repositories. About Carla says: Version 1.9.6 (2.0-beta4).

Re: Carla - no save for LV2?

falkTX, I think that this problem still exists, at least linuxsampler LV2 plugin is not restoring its state. I see that a "linuxsampler" file with the state is saved from Carla, but I couldn't make it to be restored.

Re: Debian 8 (jessie)

Asbak, I have been using a recompiled Kernel 3.16 with the option "Preemptible Kernel (Low-Latency Desktop)". I could not use "Complete Preemption (Real-Time)" because RT patch is not ready for 3.16 Kernel. But the first option is working really well; no XRUNS when working with A...

Re: Debian 8 (jessie)

As for now, my first shot is working like a charm. 3.16 kernel recompiled wit options CONFIG_PREEMPT=y, CONFIG_HZ=1000, CONFIG_NO_HZ_IDLE=y and CONFIG_IRQ_FORCED_THREADING=y (the last one is enabled by default in stock Debian kernel 3.16). I have neither tried rtirq script yet, nor disabled any serv...

Re: Debian 8 (jessie)

In order to use the generic Linux kernel in Audio, it should have at least 'PREEMPT' option enabled. You can check this with the command 'uname -a' like: $ uname -a Linux totalchaos 3.17.6-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun Dec 7 23:43:32 UTC 2014 x86_64 GNU/Linux This option gives you the ability to have r...

khz wrote:Compile your own Kernel.
Of course. I am willing to do that. Only that I prefer to do it in the Debian way (I am used to do it), but 3.16 RT patch is not ready, and Debian jessie is not providing 3.14 kernels.

Re: Debian 8 (jessie)

>I have read about other Kernels that seems promising for audio production. They are Cadence, Tango, Siduction, etc. Some of them have the RT patch applied (of course, versions lowers than 3.16.0) and some not. What do you think about those?. Any clue on how to use them on Debian jessie?. I use liq...
