I've know when I'm shown the door so here goes.
Fuck all you, good bye.

Re: What do you want from a %100 free/libre SFZ sampler?
Disk streaming is mandatory Is it though? I've just measured: VSCO2 CE + VPO + Salamander Grand Piano + No Budget Band comsume about 6 GiB of space. Assuming they are 16 bit int and I store 32 bit float in RAM, they would occupy 12 GiB of RAM. That would still fit into my 16 GiB. And that's 2 full ...

Thankfully, we have terrorism, as long as we all join a terrorist organization, we will be free from government's oppression.

Re: Midi Issues Jack/Pulseaudio/Alsa the entire baitball
Linux kernel has ALSA and ALSA has MIDI support in it. JACK can run on top of ALSA and has its own MIDI layer. When running, JACK will assume total control of audio but not MIDI. Most pro audio applications use JACK for audio but MIDI support is a bit split between ALSA and JACK. When working with J...

Re: Max size soundfonts in LMMS?
You've doubled your memory, so that's an improvement. If it's 32 bit hardware you can have 4GB ram, so you can put another 2GB stick in this machine. You can have 64 GiB of RAM on 32 bit hardware using PAE and it is enabled by default on most Linux distros nowadays. But individual processes will st...

Re: Github Microsoft/calculator README.md
Web of trust. People who audit the code then sign the binary with their signature and then there will be a system where every user has a list of trusted keys so they can install only software signed by trusted keys. This is similar to how APT works in Debian.

Re: What do you want from a %100 free/libre SFZ sampler?
I'm writing the sampler in ISO C++ on top of ftz Audio . There will be a core library that can be embedded anywhere. The very first release will probably be a standalone JACK app using Qt. Then I probably release plugins using DPF, not sure about GUI in the plugins though. I'm using this as a refere...

Re: Github Microsoft/calculator README.md
Excellent, I'm genuinely interested to hear your ideas. Aw, hell, here's the draft I've written a couple of days ago: ## License ### 4 fundamental freedoms ### Manual license audit ### AI legalese interpreter ### Database of copyright/patent/trademark laws ### Automated license audit ## Step 2 ### ...

Yes, I'm gonna write the article after I convert my site from Jekyll to Hugo. Both systems suck but Hugo sucks less.d.healey wrote:Do you have some suggestions on how malware in free software can be prevented?

What do you want from a %100 free/libre SFZ sampler?
Ok, so I've started writing a replacement for LinuxSampler some time ago but then hit a roadblock and put it away for now. But since most of the stuff is not implemented, I think maybe I can just ask people what they want and get things right from the start. So what do you want from an SFZ sampler? ...

Re: Github Microsoft/calculator README.md
I read your article and from what I gathered it seems like you're hostile towards the FSF because they achieved their goals but they don't care about other things that you think they should care about. i.e. They want software to be free and don't do anything to prevent said free software also being...

Re: transition everything to Discourse
Sure, that's why I put the word "pixel' in quotes. Most browsers allow you to set the ratio between physical and logical pixels and that's what I did to make sites more readable on my monitor. The problem is that it is still 1:1 by default at least in Firefox and it makes a lot of sites look li...

Re: transition everything to Discourse
Oh, by the way, this forum is unreadable on my desktop PC because I have monitor with high PPI. Thankfully, I have forced the minimum font size in Firefox so now I can read text... but the white space is so small that text fields tend to blend into each other. Oh, the irony. I think the biggest prob...

Re: Github Microsoft/calculator README.md
I consider myself a Free Software and Open Source supporter, and if you are so openly hostile to me, this makes me wonder how I should treat you. Open Source was evil from the start. The idea it that they wanted to market "free software" to businesses so businesses can flood the market wi...

Also, anyone else find ridiculous that you have to register to download the specs and drafts are available only to big corporations? Music industry is sure as hell damned.
