Awesome! Stop playing pro evolution soccer and start creating music again ;) I added your song to the linux musicians playlist ;) Aside Bitwig Studio, there's a great alternative that works cross platforms: Reaper. (that's the one I currently use). Altough I want to do something in LMMS again in the...

Linux Musicians Playlist

Hi all ! I'm wondering who of you have their music on Spotify or SoundCloud? It could be nice to bundle a lot of linux made music into a playlist on e.g. Spotify. There are lots of musicians who would like to get more exposure. Together we can do so. If we all stream a playlist with music from us al...

Compilation - Sampler - Playlist ?

I once was in a nice community long ago, and they yearly made a 'sampler cd', a compilation of songs featuring prominent artists from the community. Wouldn't it be cool if there was a SoundCloud page or something like that, where an admin or jury makes a playlist each month with all new songs from t...

Re: Bonaventura !

It is like 4 songs in one! Really nice melodies! The sound is very light and roomy. Thanks! There's another one like that with lots of variations, called "A fêmea está se preparando para a estação de acasalamento". Both songs are started with a melody that I wanted to let grow to a full song, but i...

Re: My first recording in a full Linux environment ^^

Yeah, I bought an AM53, the entry level model, and I do really like it. I've been wanting an archtop electric guitar ever since I was a teenager admiring Robert Smith's bright red Gibson Chet Atkins model. Here is me playing it on the day I bought it: https://youtu.be/_5jmv0XsuII . I've made severa...

Re: My first recording in a full Linux environment ^^

I really like your style. Do I hear an influence from The Cure in your guitar phrasing and layering? I have been thinking of buying an Ibanez hollowbody. You're getting some nice tones out of yours. Which one do you have? I have been looking at the AM53. Do you like it? Very very sorry for the late...

Re: My first recording in a full Linux environment ^^

Thanks for all the feedback :) Appreciated and learned from it. I now recorded another track you can find below: https://soundcloud.com/bulevardi/a-femea-esta-se-preparando-para-a-estacao-de-acasalamento I gave a little more attention to the EQ'ing for mastering the track, but it's not my cup of tea...

Re: Which DAW to pick?

Didn't know about this DI box yet. Seems interesting. If you try Guitarix, be aware that it uses jack, (except the LV2 plugin). Haven't got this working yet, as I'm not a jack fan. However you can do much with jack, like Rakarrack etc... But soon you'll notice that there are daw's where you can use ...

Re: Focusrite scarlet solo into Reaper

Reïnstalled Xfce from scratch. Pavucontrol as volume mixer. For some reason it is now directly working out of the box... The input/output fields of the ALSA settings were already filled in with the Scarlett in Reaper. And no latency at all when recording. :o Don't know what went wrong in the...

Re: Focusrite scarlet solo into Reaper

That sounds as if you re-installed the whole OS to change to Cinnamon. You don't have to do that! That's exactly what I did  Just as you can have multiple browsers or DAWs installed, you can have multiple DEs, and choose the one you want at login. Yes, I tried that first. Perhaps I followe...

Re: Which DAW to pick?

I tried a lot of daw's in the past couple of years.

Reaper is my favourite. Lightweight, fast, stable, straightforward, userfriendly.
Works perfect in Linux Mint Cinnamon (probably going to test it again in Xfce tonight)
It has a native linux version, and it installs fast and easy.
