Re: AV Linux MX Edition 23.1 (AVL-MXe) Released!

Hello GMaq , I am so excited with the AVLinux 23.1, and the underrated but quite capable Enlightenment Desktop Environment. It seems that the fans at Distrowatch.com are impressed as well: https://i.postimg.cc/V6CtgP1z/Screenshot-from-2024-01-21-04-50-19.png https://i.postimg.cc/L5F10Q6L/Screenshot-...

Re: AV Linux MX Edition 23.1 progress

It should not be necessary to remove Pipewire just disable the service so it doesn't run. But I understand the sentiment of wanting to be able to remove stuff which isn't actually used. For example, I (try to) do that with everything bluetooth related, since my PC doesn't even have the necessary ha...

Re: Ubuntu Studio 23.10 - Ubuntu Studio Audio Configuration

You can choose to use either pipewire's jack emulation, or native jack instead. You can also switch back to the classic stable pulseaudio + jack as well

Re: [ANN] qpwgraph v0.6.0 - An Autumn'23 Release

Hello rncbc , I fully agree with GMaq , that QPWGraph 1.0 should become for Pipewire, what QJackCtl is for Jack. One application, that controls in real time, both the audio I/O connections, and buffer && sample-rate. All encapsulated in a handy, nice GUI Nevertheless QPWGraph is already an e...

Re: organs for linux.

Since the beginning of my story with linux audio, there was a powerful, rock solid, and capable application called Aeolus. It's not an emulator of a specific organ brand, but more of a software instrument by itself, with truly powerful capabilities. And for that it is my choice for organ sounds, unl...

Re: Ubuntu studio - jack audio issue

....The only thing running is firefox. Thanks for ideas. Joseph Maybe Firefox is trying to connect to Jack natively. Firefox can do that, but it really sucks at it! The fact that Ubuntu is using a snap version of Firefox is making it even worse. In my experience, Epiphany browser is more jack-serve...

Re: Very easy way to set Pipewire sample rate and buffer size defaults!

Recently i am successfully using Pipecontrol, to set up Pipewire, even at real time. https://github.com/portaloffreedom/PipeControl https://aur.archlinux.org/pipecontrol.git And using Patchance to set up connections. https://github.com/Houston4444/Patchance https://aur.archlinux.org/patchance.git

Re: PipeWire 0.3.68 Released With New RTP Session Module, Many Other Changes

I am pleasantly surprised to see, that Pipewire is the default sound server in Ubuntu Studio 23.04 Beta. And it seems to work pretty decently. https://ubuntustudio.org/2023/03/ubuntu-studio-23-04-beta-released/ https://ubuntustudio.org/switching-audio-setup/ https://i.postimg.cc/0MxkMQzJ/Screenshot-...

Re: Ubuntu Studio support methods, current situation?

I will try connecting with the developer(s) of the particular app. Or i will connect with Debian Multimedia maintainers. Both are upstream, compared to what ends up on Ubuntu Studio.

Re: AV-Linux - Realtime Kernel - XFCE Tweak - SoundFont

RT kernel seems to cause some problems to Nvidia card owners Here is a little known, but very important to know, fact. The proprietary NVidia drivers are messing up with the realtime scheduling. Re: Which Linux Distro should i choose for Music production 2021

If you want a stable and reliable system, your choice should be Debian. Good specialized Debian based distos are: LibraZiK (my choice) https://librazik.tuxfamily.org/base-site-LZK/english.php AVLinux / MXDE-EFL https://www.bandshed.net/avlinux KXStudio https://kx.studio/Repositories If you want cust...

I would love to try it, but I couldn´t find any ISO or so to burn it in a USB stick. Is there any ISO for it? Thanks Here are different installation methods validated by the LibraZiK team. These installation methods can be done for 64-bit systems or for 32-bit systems. Method 1 - Complete installat...

Re: Kx as a distrib is over - what next for ubuntu users?

I'm going to try adding the KXStudio repositories, although it looks like it's discouraged. I'll try anyway. Why it's "discouraged"? The KXStudio repository is discouraged to be used onto Ubuntu Studio in particular, to avoid duplicated audio settings, that are tailored for distro specifi...
