Re: Lead Sheet editor?

OK, wow - now we're gettin somewhere. The audio part looks like a big help in turning my scratch raps bludgeoned into a composed melody. Thanks for the link!

Re: Using Rosegarden with recorded audio files?

LOL, it sure is. Almost exactly. I didn't even notice the year, just the date and thought "oh this is recent". Transcribe! isn't freeware, but it's not expensive ($40US) and it does run on Linux. I own a license but I've misplaced mine. I'm still deciding about buying it again. Leaning tow...

Re: Using Rosegarden with recorded audio files?

After re-reading the posts by the OP I'm still not certain exactly what you're trying to do, but I think we're trying to do the same thing. I think you're wanting to transcribe audio files from something you recorded, and I suspect you're hoping for an automatic solution. The auto solution is a no g...

Re: Lead Sheet editor?

Ok, I took a look at MuseScore, as well as figuring out how to attach audio in Rosegarden. Rosegarden comes close to doing what I want with this capability. But I still have an issue, in that it appears that I need melody notes to attach lyrics. I was hoping to plop in lyrics, then move syllables ar...

Re: Lead Sheet editor?

Thanks, that looks interesting. I guess where I'm paddling upstream is that I have an audio sketch, and I want to go make a lead sheet from it. So I need to be able to import a track, and transcribe it basically.

Lead Sheet editor?

I'm not quite sure what to search for on this one. I think I'm looking for something like a lead sheet program. Most of what I'm looking for right now resembles sequencer software, except that I have no MIDI tracks at all. I'm wanting some sort of tool to sprinkle lyrics across my rhythm notation an...

Re: DIY stereo microphone

"Rather than spend big bucks on a stereo mic setup that won’t offer me the low quality sound that I am accustomed to, I have decided to build my own"

Seems like she set the bar kinda low.

Zoom Rxx Project Import

I recently bought a Zoom R24. Overall, I greatly prefer working with an appliance vs a PC, but there are still steps that are easier on the PC. I do prefer to do all my tracking on the appliance. I didn't really think it a big deal when I bought it, but I absolutely LOVE that the thing can run on ba...

Re: ZOOM R16 & UBUNTU 12.04 LTS

I recently bought an R24. I have seen some folks have mixed success with drivers. I actually bought it to get AWAY from recording on the PC. So far I'm doing all my audio tracks on the recorder, then I just copy the files off the SD card. Not exactly integrated workflow, but I can use it with audaci...
