Re: Ardour 5 only working properly without plugins
No problem, it's very easy. Though the 1.4 version of the driver is supposed to be for ubuntu 15.10, it works on my 16.04. I don't know about your 14.04, maybe play it safe and download (on the same website) the latest version for 14.04. Here it is for the 15.10 version : 1) download the file https:...

Re: Ardour 5 only working properly without plugins
Hi, I've had something very similar with Ardour 5.X in Ubuntu 16.04. I tried a lot of things, nothing worked. Sometimes, I saw Compiz use a lot of CPU after closing Ardour. So, I installed Intel's own video drivers. It shouldn't make sense as they are supposed to be provided directly from Ubuntu's r...

Re: Ardour export options?
I really meant "does". As Sadko4u said, the "stem export" option in 4.x does exactly what you want. I understand your hardware issues, but as you can have Ardour 2.x and 4/x coexist on your system, just try to install version 4 and see : if it is slower or unusable, just uninstal...

Re: Ardour export options?
Hi, It's not that Ardour 2.x doesn't work, it does and we were glad to have it in its time. But Ardour 3 and Ardour 4 avec come since then and they are simply better, on every aspect. Too many to list them, though some obvious ones being UI responsiveness, MIDI, stability, etc... The very feature yo...

Re: MT-PowerDrumKit Alternative ?
SUCCEEEESSS !!! :) Thanks for having modified your script. Remember my OP : I wanted no wine in my config. So, following your advice, I changed the config's playback function to : PLAY_CMD = "jack-smf-player -t -a qsynth:midi" Lanched Qsynth, opened the fluidR3_GM.sf2 soundfont, changed th...

Re: MT-PowerDrumKit Alternative ?
Hi jochen, and thanks for your hard work ! For those wanting to install your sequencer, here's how I did based on error messages : sudo apt-get install ruby sudo apt-get install ruby1.9.1-dev sudo apt-get install cmake sudo apt-get install qt-sdk sudo gem install activesupport sudo gem install qtbin...

Re: MT-PowerDrumKit Alternative ?
Hi Beck, Regarding the 3 points mentioned, The 1st point would be enough to make it a practical solution, so I hope its feasible and someone with the know-how will chime in ;) 2) copy pasting with ctrl+click works, but in my use case, it's very uncomfortable as it creates as many new tracks as I've ...

Re: MT-PowerDrumKit Alternative ?
Hi again, @Jochen, Thanks for the script ! Not what I'm asking for but definitely a great tool. Though, you are probably in my exact position, having thousands of drum loops, choosing one is the most complex part. You seem to be quite fluent in ruby, any way you think you could create a program with...
