Re: Back In The Seat - Blues Rock instrumental.

Ah, thanks; you have a much newer model than mine. I think mine will only go to 2.3, and I have to buy a chip for that.

Wow, very nice!

What was your approach to composing this?

Re: Selfish Ledger (Collage-1)

Nice ambiance and feel, good groove. I like the way the vocal samples just become this sort of vaguely-human rhythm component. Reminds me of the vibe on Brian Eno's "Nerve Net" album.

Re: Scheherazade

Very exciting composition, it has a great buildup and nice finale. Your sister did a great job, and I like the way you ended it with the singing crowd. I had a middle-eastern phase years ago; my brother spent some time in Turkey and i visited for a few weeks, bought a darbuka and a saz that I never ...

Re: Monogatari 01 (acoustic, folk)

That's a nice composition, I like the feel on the guitar track a lot. reminds me a bit of 80's-era King Crimson. Would love to hear it with a more natural replacement for the violin soundfont.

Funny song! Kind of sounded a bit like Mark Knopfler.

Nice guitar playing!

Re: Making music as you get older

Thanks for all your comments guys. Just to be clear, I DO intend to keep making music; I can hardly choose not to, when I get one in my head that demands to come out. I guess I just find the reception a little disappointing, I guess because people (in my view) don't really value music as music (and ...

Re: Qsynth in Linux Mint 19.03 Cin and Qt5

When you compile things, watch your output. ./configure failed, as you can see by the last line in it's output. "make" isn't going to work until configure has run successfully. The way most of us learned to do this stuff is by googling the errors until we made it work. Usually ./configure fails beca...

Making music as you get older

Just something I've been thinking about lately, might be interesting to discuss. When I was a teenager and started recording music in my bedroom, people thought that was pretty cool. When I was a 20-something, touring with a band, making "real albums", and also making demos in my bedroom, people tho...

Re: Qsynth in Linux Mint 19.03 Cin and Qt5

You need to put a space between --prefix and /bin/qsynth.

That's a very odd prefix to use, though; "prefix" is usually /usr or /usr/local, or sometimes /opt.

Re: Back In The Seat - Blues Rock instrumental.

Weird question, but what is the firmware version on your POD?

Reason I ask is that I have one with 2.1 FW, but it sounds kind of bad. I am debating about buying a 2.3 chip off ebay. Not sure if it's going to be worth it, though.

Re: LM-Project-01 - v2 variation (see last comment)

So I got the tracks home and it seems like a lot is missing compared to the overviews I'm hearing. Did I get the right thing? Jam 703?

Also there's some kind of noise in several of the tracks towards the end. Nasty buzzing sound.

Re: LM-Project-01 - v2 variation (see last comment)

I downloaded these tracks today, I may take a crack at some bass or whatever. I'm in that "want to make music but don't have a song idea" place right now. And everything social has been cancelled for the duration, so I've got time.
