Re: Ardour + Calf Vinyl

I tried with Calf Vinyl in Ardour both with jack and ALSA and everything worked fine. Ardour 6 (official binaries) + Calf plugins from KX Studio. But, anyway. MC78 I try to use the Automation for the "activation"; the button stays on but the sound stops. I 'm not really sure what you mean here. Scre...

Pretty sure if you want to use plugins then Ardour needs to use jack. I've never used in in ALSA mode but it feels like Ardour and the LV2 can't bind to the audio out at the same time.
I'm 100% sure this is not true.

Seems we got all tracks in now. You can listen to them here: https://archive.org/details/LibreMusicChallenge_1 If you like you can give each track a rating from 1 to 5, where 5 is the highest rating. Just copy and fill in the table below. You can paste the result here or send it via a PM to me. +---...

Re: Libre Music Challenge #1

Voting in the FM and Nexus challenge was quite involved. I programmed a Flask app to handle it, so you had to create an account. This is something I'd like to improve the next time, e.g. let people log in with Oauth to vote, so they can use their Google, FB, whatever account. But I'd still leave th...

Re: Libre Music Challenge #1

What is the exact deadline for the first challenge? Sunday, 28th of June, I suppose? What time and timezone? Indeed , Sunday 28th of June. There's no hard set time / timezone, just post your results on that day, in your time-zone. SpotlightKid how did you do the voting in the Sonoj challenge? I'm l...

Libre Music Challenge

Hello, I and others in Unfa's discord server were discussing about organising some sort of music "Challenge" and instead of thinking things thoroughly through we just went ahead and started. Of course there's no need to join the discord server, or other chat server (we're investigating a 'libre' mes...

Re: odin2

I'm entering the KVR One Synth Challenge which features Odin2 this month.
The Linux vst is a regular vst2 although the download seems to say that it's a vst3, a bit confusing.

Lovely synth to program.

Re: How to setup jack audio server to work with guitar link using alsa driver?

This isn't very straight forward on Linux with jack I'm afraid. Simple answer, use the Ubuntu Studio Controls if you have them on your Linux distro. Longer answer. (this is what Ubuntu Studio Controls does under the hood) 1. Install the jack pulse audio bridge. 2. Start jack with your onboard sound ...

Re: COVID-19

I'm sorry to inform you that life isn't fair and bad things happen to good people. One of these bad things is the current epidemic. And just because you don't understand the measures that are to be taken, that doesn't mean it isn't real and that you can just "think for yourself" So behave like a res...

I guess this is happening: You setup jack to use the scarlet audio interface Now jack uses the scarlet interface for both input and output -------------------------------------------------------------------------- GENERAL LINUX AUDIO/JACK RANT: Why does jack insist on using the word [SYSTEM] for you...

Re: All SocaLabs plugins open sourced.

Check if there's a function that should return a value but doesn't. I've had crashes with dpf plugins when I should have returned a bool but I didn't. In release build it would crash, in debug mode it didn't. I know this is Juce and not dpf, but it sounds very similar to what I experienced (and I'm ...
