Can there be too many DAW's?

So much to choose from... currently, I settled for Qtractor and Reaper. Lean & clean. And both can do the job. Why try a new one...

Might be... when I launch Cockos Reaper through WINE, I see this:
...which normally listed 2 of my MIDI appliances.

Plus 15 MIDI Through Ports.

If I want to use my MIDI Keyboard, I have to click ENABLE Midi Through-0 in Reaper.

Update: I can get my MIDI keyboard to work.I need to do this: ENABLE 'Midi Through Port-0'.

Why does it suddenly listen on 'Midi Through Port-0' ? and I need to enable it in every application. Very strange....

I tried a few things, not sure if they are of any help.

I only get Xruns when the CPU is set to "Ondemand". Switching to 3.2Ghz (or performance) solves it for me. That's the max of my CPU. Now I rarely get any Xruns. Unless I wire/looping something incorrectly in JACK.

Unchecking "Auto Monitor" on the mixer bus fixed it! (F6 shortcut) works great now
