Linux friendly DC coupled audio interface?

I had to return my new and awesome MOTU Ultralite MK4 because it was reassigning output channels randomly. Not sure if people here have gotten this model to work properly without any channel reassignment or screeching sounds? I'm following the thread here of the AVB and it just seems to me that MOTU...

First fully-Linux EP is out, I'm stoked [glitch electonica]

I've been using linux as my main DAW for about 10 years now, and I was able to go fully linux for my music project with the recent-ish appearance of fully linux solutions that work well for me (I'm using bitwig, but yeah I know there are a bunch of other solid ones). I think more and more vendors ar...

Re: QMidiArp no midi out

For future dumbasses like my self coming across this post: YOU NEED TO BE RUNNING WITH THE INTERNAL CLOCK IN ORDER FOR MIDI SIGNALS TO PASS THROUGH (PRESS THE DAMN PLAY BUTTON).

QMidiArp no midi out

I'm using kxstudio and I've just started plunging into qmidiarp, it looks like an amazing tool that I look forward exploring more. Along my midi route I have a keystation that generates midi messages, an interfase (Focusrite 2i4) and a hardware synth. I can output midi from my keystation directly to...

Re: Ableton xruns

I'm running a 6Gb laptop and I have the same problem, although maybe a bit less acute, so I'm not sure RAM is such a big factor. I do notice that when I'm doing somethiing else (for example using a browser) the amount of xruns increase momentarily. After bricking my laptop and going through somewhat...

Re: Ableton xruns

I uninstalled all instances of wine (all of them, purged, cleaned, etc). I was then able to properly install wine-rt and wineasio from the kxstudio repos and now Live runs properly (with minor crackles and pops) at 512 (instead of the 1024 previsously described). So yeah :) . When I play a song at 5...

Re: Ableton xruns

I installed and ran the PoL script and I couldn't get the aplication to start correctly. I uninstalled PoL, reinstalled everything manually and I'm back where I was. (I checked out Luppp, looks like a great piece of software but its more a looper than a clip programming app. I will definitely be usi...

Re: Ableton xruns

My Linux audio apps are all running properly with no xruns (and I do have WineASIO installed). My kernel is set to 250 Hz (I understand setting the kernel to 1000Hz is mostly useful for intensive midi use, which I don't). I ran raboof's realTimeConfigQuickScan script... a bunch of warnings and "...

Ableton xruns

I've managed to get Ableton running pretty decently in my Debian (testing) machine. I downloaded Wine from the kxstudio repos, and except for some minor GUI issues (that I bellieve can be easily fixed with wineprefix) things are running better than expected. My Scarlett 2i4 is recognized and I can p...

Re: jack2 has no sound when going through audio interface

I'm such a noob. The problem was in the routing of the audio in jack connect. I had to disconnect everything and route the signals properly because jack wasn't doing it properly by default. If someone else comes across this post in the future: make sure you route the audio properly in your jack conn...

Re: jack2 has no sound when going through audio interface

Hi bluebell, thanks for the info. I tried setting fixed positions but it doesn't work either. I've been playing with the jack settings to use defaults, hw:USB, hw:USB,0 but still no sound. Weird thing is, I do get proper output from the Focusrite's headphone output, but nothing from the main audio o...

jack2 has no sound when going through audio interface

My fellow LM's: I am trying to take the first baby step of recording some loops in SooperLooper using a Focusrite 2i4 interface, but there is no sound coming out. I am able to fire up jack2 and SooperLooper and record some loops, and I know they are being recorded but when I playback no audio comes ...
