LMMS 1.1 released
Merry christmas from the LMMS team! We've finally released the long-postponed 1.1 release which has all kinds of new stuff, including 3 new native synth instruments, and (still experimental) support for Carla 2 in either rack or patchbay mode! Other new things include: fully modular FX mixer with ch...

Re: About LMMS and DSSIs.
One more quick thing: is LMMS able to support DSSIs, Not at this time, no. If you get the latest version from git (the stable-1.1 branch) then you'll be able to use DSSI, LV2 and LinuxVST instrument plugins via Carla, however LMMS-Carla doesn't yet support automations so the use cases are a bit lim...

Re: Linux Audio Programmers: LMMS needs your help
Good news, I've sent the LMMS pull request for the Carla plugin just a few minutes ago. http://i.imgur.com/R85iPQx.png :D There's some stuff I need to know, but I'll ask on the mailing list. Cool! Looks really promising from what I've had time to look at it. I'll take a more thorough look later, ho...

Re: Linux Audio Programmers: LMMS needs your help
If you're interested, the code can be found here: https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/pull/1088/files What's up with all of the locks if this should only be running on the realtime side of things? Because it must also run thread-safely and there's no way to prevent double-allocation of the same memory chu...

Re: Linux Audio Programmers: LMMS needs your help
I'm currently working on a memory manager for LMMS, which should somewhat improve RT-safety by cutting down heap allocations. It's still a long way to go to make LMMS RT-safe, but it's a step forward. What are you using for your resizeable memory pool? Right now I'm looking into TLSF for similarly ...

Re: Vst in lmms.
I'm not sure which packages Ubuntu studio uses, but if they use the same package as offered by the main Ubuntu repos, then the package they offer is completely broken, unstable and unusable. We've tried to get the Ubuntu maintainers to replace the broken package, but they just don't seem to care. If...

Re: Linux Audio Programmers: LMMS needs your help
On another note: FalkTX, what's the status on the LMMS/Carla plugin? Are you still working on it? I'd love to see it in LMMS 1.2... How is 1.1 coming? We're at the final RC... I think we can do a release very soon - there may be small issues but nothing that would be a showstopper and couldn...

Re: Linux music as a major player...
I dunno. I agree with the above post, but... On the other hand, I could see the usefulness in a respin of eg. KXStudio which would come with all the software needed to just "jump right in" into music production pre-installed. There could be an icon on the desktop labeled "Click here t...

Re: Linux music as a major player...
Actually I'm already using falkTX's distro. The issue is, that apparently some people are having problems getting things set-up. I too had to do a bit of tweaking here and there, but it wasn't anything impossible. On the contrary. The problems come, imo, when you have different hardware setups acro...

Re: Linux Audio Programmers: LMMS needs your help
Hypothetically, if we were able to pay for X work hours to a developer to work on improving the core engine of LMMS... would anyone be interested in such a project? I'd image that if a reasonable pay/hours was setup there are people out there who would work as a consultant for the project. We'd nee...

Re: Howto avoid introducing rumble from ADSR
In that case, the problem is that it's currently output[i] = env( input[i] ); when it should be env_phase = env( env_phase ); output[i] = input[i] * env_phase; Meaning, that the argument given to the function in the OP should be a variable that holds the current phase of the envelope, not the input ...
