Have you tried Ubuntu Studio? You can try the live boot with a USB stick. The real-time kernel of Ubuntu Studio might make a difference, it's worth a try.

Hi, Does anybody own a Behringer U-Phoria series? I'm planning to buy a Behringer U-Phoria UMC202 but I'm not sure if 24-bit recording is possible on Linux. The dirt-cheap Miditech Audioface II is class compliant. It works on an iPad and also on Linux. The Miditech Audiolink III is also class compliant but the Miditech Audiolink Pro 24/96 isn't.
