Re: Ingen - any help appreciated

I can't help with the documentation but have you looked in to VCV Rack or do you need it to be a LADSPA/LV2?

Could a mod or OP change the title of the thread to something less vague?

Re: kxstudio installation issues on Lubuntu 19.04

I think the repo is not quite ready for 19.* but if you just need to install wine it would be better to use the winehq ppa. Or do you need LMMS?

Re: testing kx repository on new systems

Yeah linux isn't in a bad place for audio now. I run reaper, renoise, and primarily vcv rack without any real problems linux wise. Neon with the lowlatency kernel (I also had liquorix for a while and the constant updating got a bit annoying) is stable and smooth for me.

Re: A question about reverberation effect

Also, developing a reverb DSP is an art of wizardry. There are plenty of well-known DSP components that algorithmic reverbs tend to be built from: delay, feedback, diffusion, chorus, modulation, allpass, lowpass, highpass, etc. There are infinite ways to put these together to create a reverb effect...

Re: Linux Distro to make music with an old PC

I can't imagine you will be able to do much with 1gb but I suppose it depends what you are using it for. You could try something with a minimal DE/window manager like manjaro openbox edition (if that still exists), or crunchbang (which I'm sure doesn't exist but there might be a fork) that might hel...

Re: Convert rhythm to MIDI

I think there's an LSP plugin that can do that, it's meant for drums but it might work with other material if you just need the rhythm.

Re: New distro suggestions and tips please!!! :D

This is all pretty confusing to follow. If you have the kxstudio repos installed then install cadence and catia. Run cadence, go in to the setup pages and select your card (other defaults should be fine for now), go to the main cadence window and start jack from there. Go to the pulseaudio bridge f...

Re: cdemu and cd players

Cool, well that's progres at least! I know it can read and display metadata but it's been a while since I've used an iso so I'm not sure what the problem might be. Do you have the deadbeef plugins installed?

Re: EEK. Ubuntu studio using system wide instance of pulseaudio

It's probably set up to run as a user service:

Code: Select all

sudo systemctl --user disable pulseaudio.service && sudo systemctl --user disable pulseaudio.socket

I can't imagine that pulseaudio is going to make much difference to your ram usage though.
