Re: KX Studio at the End of Standard Support - what now?

Can't you just upgrade your kxstudio install? (assuming you mean the ubuntu based iso)
Could be a big jump to current but might be fairly painless.

Re: Looking for versatile sampler plugin

What about redux? Yeah renoise/redux is one of the most powerful samplers around. You can can do synthesis with single cycle wave samples, draw your own waveforms to use as samples, record samples, do multisampling with velocity layers and fully adjustable and automatable envelopes/filters/modulati...

Re: Dragonfly Reverb 2.0.0

Nice, thanks. Is there a changelog somewhere? You can kind of view the releases page as a change log: https://github.com/michaelwillis/dragonfly-reverb/releases I should probably make something better than that, though... A number of things listed in those beta releases were kind of experimental, s...

Re: is Hydrogen better than Ardour for drums

I share these frustrations with workflow. Hydrogen and Ardour are individually top notch, but I agree with op that syncing them is sub-optimal. I don't want to have an elaborate set-up to get a simple thing done. The problem is that we're between two worlds/ages, one where jack modularity was celeb...

Not all of them have been ported yet but most of the popular ones are on the way as far as I know. If you look on the vcvrack library page and sort by updated you can see which are already available in v1.

Re: is Hydrogen better than Ardour for drums

Is it really that much more work in ardour? Surely you can just create two midi clips, one for A and one for B, and then arrange them? If you're happy with ardour and hydrogen together then you can use session management, this should save songs/patches and reload them and set up the routing again. N...

VCV Rack 1.0 released

Finally, the long awaited v1 has been released - https://vcvrack.com/Rack.html The changelog is rather large but most notable changes are listed here - https://community.vcvrack.com/t/an-unofficial-guide-to-the-rack-v1-changelog There is a huge performance boost for me, not only in the multithreadin...

Re: Problem when I load plugins NadIr and Emissary

There might be a fix for the black screen, I've had that with the odd plugin too but I have seen people suggest dll overrides and stuff on here to make some plugins work. The author of linvst posts here so they might be best to get an answer from. Maybe rename this thread and include linvst in the t...

Did you ever find the cause of this? I have just picked one of these up and I am noticing more glitches (perhaps xruns, I'm not sure) than I had with my focusrite.

Re: Finallly tried MUX modular synth from MUTOOLS

The above made me ask myself a question: why is it that such a truly modular synth like MUX makes it so easy to explore sounds whereas the VCV Rack seems of not so an easy approach as far as coming up with potent sounds is concerned ? In my case that is, although I'm certain many also share this ex...

Re: Do you want more people to use Linux for music?

@Michael Willis What I mean is that someone who is coming to Linux from Windows is in a worse position than someone starting from scratch. Someone used to Windows has to unlearn Windows and the Windows ways of doing things when learning Linux. I'm not referring to Windows Users on Windows. Support ...
