Re: Confused Linux Recording Newbie Death Metal Setup
to archive this in ardour, you can use the guitarix LV2 plugs and IR-LV2. Load IR-LV2 into ardours channel output strip and load a IR-file from BestPlugins into it. Set mix to full wet. That wouldn't give you the result you wont, because you need to add distortion before. David use the tse 808 and ...

Re: Kernel Panic When Using Line 6 Device and USB Mixer In J
Nevermind. I have been informed that multiple soundcards with Jack should be avoided at all costs.

Alright guys an update. You all were so helpful! I am getting really close to accomplishing what I need. I got my Toneport GX working. I am going to post a guide soon. I have Ardour recording my clean channel. Now I am looking for a way to apply my guitarix tone to the clean channel. Any tips on tha...

Kernel Panic When Using Line 6 Device and USB Mixer In Jack
I have a Line 6 Toneport GX and a Line 6 Pod XT Live. I also have an Alesis Multimix USB Mixer. If I set the input and output to either Line 6 device everything works fine. But if I set the input to the Line 6 and the output to my Alesis I get the kernel panic. It also happens when I set the Alesis ...

Re: Confused Linux Recording Newbie Death Metal Setup
I've been pulling my hair out. I've spent about six hours and haven't recorded a single note. My issue is with the line 6 products. In AVLinux, every time I put the Line6 Toneport GX or XT Live as the input and use my Alesis mixer as the output I get a kernel panic. So for a test I ran my guitar int...

Re: Confused Linux Recording Newbie Death Metal Setup
you need to disable "Monitoring" on your Toneport GX. I didn't know the toneport, but you will properly find how to disable "Monitoring" or "Direct Sound" in the users manual. For alsa cards you usually switch of the MIC and/or Line sound for this purpose. Your second ...

Re: Confused Linux Recording Newbie Death Metal Setup
Okay, I ended up going with AVLinux since it works well with my setup. I seem to be having an issue though. When I plug my guitar into my Toneport GX I can hear the raw signal from the guitar. I was excited when this first worked, but after tweaking with qjackctl connections I was able to make it ro...

Re: Confused Linux Recording Newbie Death Metal Setup
I would REALLY like these tones. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwgyUzXU ... 5WckfPp8CR From what I understand, I should be able to get them in with Guitarix correct?(If there is a guide for these please link to them.) guitarix include the MEGA IR PACK I-III already, since version 0.28 I've no idea...

Confused Linux Recording Newbie Death Metal Setup
Hello all. I am new here and really want to get a good setup tonight. Any recommendations on the below questions are much appreciated. I wasn't really sure where to put all of this, so here goes. I am coming from a background where I used Mixcraft and Beatcraft to create music, mostly metal/death me...
