Sabayon with 3.10.6-rt3 kernel, and the "pro-audio" overlay ( ie most audio software built using Gentoo's portage, with ebuilds from this overlay ). Works stunningly well with no tweaking. Under 1ms latency, with no Xruns, but NOT in Gnome 3. Gnome 3's compositor goes haywire every 5 minut...

Sorted.

It seems that adding a MIDI track from the 'main' window and selecting an instrument ( sometimes ? ) doesn't set things up properly. But adding a new track from the mixer window works fine.

How do I configure software synths in ardour?

Hi all. I'm trying to get some software synths working in ardour. Thanks for the replies :) I'll check out all these options as soon as I can. I assume you intend to set the tempo by tapping a button on the korg unit (i.e. using midi to control the delay)? Nah I'm trying to replace the KP3 if I can. Too much to carry around on a motorbike. I was picturing just tap...

Delay with a 'tap to set delay time' feature

Hi all. I just bought myself a USB audio device, and I'm learning how to get things done. I've never done any audio work in Linux before ( and only a very limited amount in Windows, about 15 years ago ). I'm used to using a KaossPad ( KP3 ). At the moment ... I'm after 2 things ... reverb and delay....
