Re: MIDI Keyboard suddenly not working in ZynAddSubFX

Problem solved! This keyboard has its own internal MIDI channel setting. I forgot about it until you reminded me--thanks. I left it on channel 1 last time I used it, but it apparently wasn't on channel 1 until I switched it just now, and now everything works. I guess this thing can just randomly be ...

[SOLVED] MIDI Keyboard suddenly not working in ZynAddSubFX

When I connect this Nektar SE25 MIDI keyboard to ZynAddSubFX (newer Fusion version) and press keys, the virtual keyboard lights up, but nothing else happens. No sound. If I click the virtual keyboard with a mouse, it works fine. This MIDI keyboard works fine with any other synth. This wasn't happeni...

Re: [SOLVED] Ion Redline DrumKit: No MIDI?

Oh, man, that moment when you realize you paid slightly extra for a 3-year warranty that you forgot about. I'm all set. 5-months-back me was a lot smarter than me now.

Re: [SOLVED] Ion Redline DrumKit: No MIDI?

It's definitely the kit's connection. I've tested it with 2 different USB cables and 2 different USB ports, all of which work just fine with the keyboard.

Re: Ion Redline DrumKit: No MIDI?

The plot thickens! It turns out this thing IS class-compliant, because the apparently friendly, if very very late-to-respond, tech support linked me to this page to troubleshoot it: http://www.noterepeat.com/articles/pc-troubleshooting/95-troubleshooting-class-compliant-usb-computer-peripherals I'm ...

No, that's all old news. I have 2 other devices that work fine (after loading that module).

Re: Ion Redline DrumKit: No MIDI?

I just tested it in Windows 7, and no dice. VMPK couldn't see it as a device. In fact, when I plugged it in, Windows said it couldn't find a driver for "Unknown device." So it seems to not work anywhere. Their manual advertises that it works, and they provide absolutely no drivers, so I'm ...

Re: Ion Redline DrumKit: No MIDI?

I don't think it came with any software or driver. I think it's intended to, at least in Mac and Windows, just work. I should try booting into my barely-used Windows partition and test it there, and it if still doesn't work, I'll probably have to get into your project and try stuff.

Re: Ion Redline DrumKit: No MIDI?

Class-compliant? Is there more than one way that a device can be MIDI-recognized? It's advertised as definitely compatible with computers as a MIDI device and has a guide to set that up in the manual, and all I know is that it doesn't work on my Linux computer. Do Rock Band drums work out of the box...

[SOLVED] Ion Redline DrumKit: No MIDI?

Running x64 Arch Linux. I bought an electric drum kit called the Ion Redline (not the Saturn car). Here's how it shows up in lsusb: Bus 008 Device 023: ID 15e4:017a Numark I have an Akai LDP8 MIDI controller and a CASIO CTK3200 MIDI keyboard and they both work just fine, but this drum kit can't seem...

Re: Anyone tried the Raspberry Pi 2 yet?

I know from experience that the Pi B+ can already handle audio at decent enough quality, unless you're running a display manager, unless you're also running a cute little $30 Behringer USB sound card to go with that display manager. So, I'd assume the 2 is probably great even with graphics and witho...

Re: Using Rosegarden with recorded audio files?

Thanks. It's a year later, so I've figured a lot out now, but it never occurred to me that I wouldn't be able to transpose one audio file into the other notes. Thinking about it now, it makes perfect sense that I can't do that. I'll keep that Transcribe program in mind.

Re: Optimizing bass guitar?

Well, yeah, my M-Audio card doesn't have phantom power, hence why I bought a phantom power box that I plug into it. I'm avoiding pre-amps because so far, I've been able to do everything a pre-amp could and more with just my card and the hardware it takes to make the signal great (namely a dibox and ...

Re: Optimizing bass guitar?

That's probably because of the Guitatix settings I applied to it. The difference is my bass's signal is much cleaner and more. audible now, so that when I change my Guitarix settings the difference is as dramatic as changing to a different bass and amp. Before, in Selection 1 and 2, that was the onl...

Re: Optimizing bass guitar?

Through a phantom power box that I originally got for my condenser mic. I don't remember the brand (don't have my equipment with me right now), but I know it's the right voltage and it seems to work fine.
