I'm sorry it's taken me so long to reply to your post...it slipped under my radar. I'd love to collaborate with your site.
We could definitely share content as well as links to each other, etc, although right now we are not planning on migrating to the Tiki platform.
I'd love to talk with you further on how we can help each other out! Send me a PM and let's talk!

I am sorry for not being as responsive as i would want but Linuxmao is right now searching to achieve a better look and organisation.
During this process (this summer) we are a little short of time but we had some interesting discussion about which CMS is the best, etc.
Tikiwiki is not the best but on the other hand it has allowed us to have quickly something well featured with news, wiki and forums.
If there are some people who want to start a Spanish or German Linux audio site I won't say, "hey, use Tikiwiki !". Well, i am rather OK with our choice and now it would be too much assle to change, but i think everybody will have a personal feeling and will have to make his own way.
We have made quite a lot of modifications to make it appears and behaves like we want so its not the perfect tool. Its not certain the perfect tool exists, btw.
Concerning LinuxMusicians, I cannot comment since i still have to discover it a little more, but i see it as a forums based concept. The tutorials are integrated in the forums.
I like the name, its important to have something that talk to us.
I still would advise you to have a look on the big CMS suites as it allows to have plenty of features quickly to extand your site later.
For instance a wiki remains nice to make tutorials with more interactions with the users. You may want to have a space to share files, and so on..
Another route is to gather several specialised tools in one, but it may ask for more knowledge in administration.
Too bad that the guys of the LAU ML didn't like the forums idea at all, you would have been integrated in the linuxaudio consortium portal thing, as you suggested.
