hi again, a quick question, what's the difference betwen the ubuntustudio standard low-latency kernel and the kxstudio specific one?

none, because they are the same (both come from the ubuntu repos).
KXStudio just has handy meta-packages to install different types of kernels.

ahh ok, the rt kernel is a metapackage of an ubustudio one too?

no, the realtime kernel is not available at the official repos, but an UbuntuStudio developer packaged it into a PPA, here:
https://launchpad.net/~abogani/+archive/realtimeThat is the one used in KXStudio. It was copied over so we don't have to depend on 3rd-party PPAs.
