I tried to find anything to do that for linux but I heaven't.
That would greatly simplify finding optimal tempo for songs and such...

Agreed. For some projects I use a Jack-rack with EQ, Compressor, and a Limiter and I feel like I get better control and better results than with Jamin', surprisingly.
