The calf plugins from git are amazing and will be a great day when they are released as stable. I would like to see mono versions tho, maybe mono versions will be included before release.

I also strongly miss a program to tap tempo.

The best would be a simple command-line app, where you can run it, and tap apace with it showing calculated BPM value.

I tried to find anything to do that for linux but I heaven't.

That would greatly simplify finding optimal tempo for songs and such...

'gtick' has 'tap tempo' support.

It's GUI though, and doesn't seem to work all that well: the tempo quickly changes a lot - if I'd have to guess I think they only look at the last tap, instead of 'averaging out' the speeds of the last few taps.

Oh wow, weird coincidence. I just posted about a tap tempo utility I wrote in this thread.

Did you guys try Jamin (http://jamin.sourceforge.net/en/about.html)? It's an excellent mastering suite, imo.

I was never able to get the results I wanted out of Jammin', and damn I tried and tried and tried. Now I just use some VST plugins to do all my mastering stuff. I have numerous small complaints about Jammin', but basically, it just barely misses the mark for me. Oh well.

A synth with tempo-sync'd LFOs is on my wish list.

Agreed. For some projects I use a Jack-rack with EQ, Compressor, and a Limiter and I feel like I get better control and better results than with Jamin', surprisingly.

One of my lecturers was an amazing mastering engineer and he never (to my knoledge) used a dedicated mastering suite. He gets paid a lot of money for his private work here in Australia. It isn't the thousands of $ worth of gear that makes a good mix or master, it's the person using it. I know this for a fact, I have heard terrible mixes come from Neve and SSL consoles with all the outboard and Mics money can buy. Just drop by your nearest SAE and you will hear what I am talking about. Those private institution guys used to laugh at the equipment my university was using, I used to laugh at their mic placement, mixes, and general lack of knowledge.

Now back on topic The only tool/feature I am missing is the ability to organise plugins. I started another thread about this as I belive that LV2 may be supporting tags in the near future? Being able to tag LV2 plugins would be awsome, So a tool like Exfalso but for LV2 plugins would be great.
