I like this a lot. Can you explain a bit more about what is happening in the patch and the track?

tnx sysrqer, i've made it with 2 softwares: puredata and ardour. I've also used CALF's compressor/EQ/reverb plugins.
The instruments are: an old acoustic guitar and an analog synth (Arturia MicroBrute).
The 2 instruments are connected to 2 input channel in a puredata patch that record a buffer of audio for each instruments and put it in a "rythm-matrix" that organize the beats and the "melody" (with a pitch-shift of every block). All the sound is filtered and processed with some granulators and a spectral-cross-synth that made a convolution between the 2 signals.
Sorry but the patch is complicated and my english is poor... :(

EDIT: a couple of links that i've used:

http://www.katjaas.nl/beatdetection/instantslice.html <<--- great about looping and slicing samples
http://www.pd-tutorial.com/english/ch03s07.html <<--- simple tutorial about granular synthesis that i've used in the patch
http://www.essl.at/software.html <<--- the Karlheinz Essl website contains the "RTC library" for pure data, it is a lib with a lot of abstractions to manipulate the music (in terms of pitch-rythm-sequencing)

TNX for your comment!

Thanks for the info pinellos, that's really interesting. I just installed Pd the other day and I'm trying to learn the basics but I am starting to realize how much there is to learn to do basic things. I will definitely be exploring the links and information you provided though, your music is the kind of direction I am interested in taking.

hi sys,
i work with pd since years, i've also used SuperCollider (great language!), CSound (great sound but very "low-level" language) and others.... IMHO pd is the best solution in terms of productivity/work: maybe is a bit annoyng to semone to have to point&click the mouse instead of type whit the keyboard, but i think that his visual enviroment is great for musicians, that usually are not software-engineer also....
The best way to start whit pd is a good manual about the enviroment AND about acoustic and sound's theory:

http://en.flossmanuals.net/pure-data/ <<<--- specific for pure data, pratical examples etc...

http://www.pd-tutorial.com/english/ <<<--- great pure data tutorial whit simple theory about sounds and acoustic phenomena - i.e. what is really a "reverb"? what a "distorsion"? etc....

http://forum.pdpatchrepo.info/ <<<--- the biggest forum and community about pure data programming language, try to search "maelstrom" user or "mmb" thread, is - imho - a real pd's GURU

tell me if u need help whit pd :)

a must to learn pratically how to make a polyphonic synthesizer whit different waveforms, envelope (filter and amp), a save-state patch system to save preset and a basic GUI to control the instrument:

http://claudionervi.com/pure-data/curso ... en-pd.html

Very useful to learn about basics: midi control (note and velocity), ADSR and much more...
