My Face - Jazzy Blues Power Trio Style

Post by GMaq »

Hi,

Here's an early mix of an original jazzy-blues tune called 'My Face'. Created with Ardour3 3.5.357 on a fresh install of AV Linux 6.0.3.

Comments and Critiques welcomed...

Thanks for the kind words Glen. I thoroughly enjoyed your track as well. Love the feeling of being in the room during the session. Live drums right?

Very cool. The tambourine should be less loud. In the beginning of the sound it's sometimes a bit late :)

Overall: nice sound, "live" feeling. Great vocals and voice.

The guitar solo at 2:44 reminds me of something, a good feeling from when I was younger, a bit of Wishbone Ash, a little bit of Peter Frampton, but your own style.

Hi bluebell,

Thanks for listening, I appreciate your comments. I'll check out and fix that tambourine when I get to a final mix. The middle solo is basically all octaves, I'm not sure where I got that idea but Frampton and W.A. are probably in my subconscious somewhere.. :)

When do we get to hear another of your productions? I'm very curious what you're brewing with Qtractor...

Yes, the octaves are part of that feeling, but melody and sound as well.

The first song I published will be redone: the singer is not happy with the vocals, so they'll get recorded. And I got some real guitar tracks from a friend. This will become my first song made with Qtractor, with about 30 tracks. I'll use Klangfalter as the reverb although I am not sure if it sounds better than the algorithmic C*Plate that uses way less CPU. Linuxsampler will also be used by me for the first time.

Now only the singer's tracks are missing. Can't say when she'll feel like singing :)
