Wow! What is your download speed???
I'm still on 32% downloading, ie:
[#1 SIZE:511.1MiB/1,566.5MiB(32%) CN:1 SPD:441.0KiBs ETA:40m50s]

I'll try to seed this torrent as much as possible, thanks!
(PS: did you checked md5sum to see if it matched?)

Thanks. And by "it" I meant there won't be another ISO, right? As in: this ISO is the ISO and from here on installing KXStudio means either the repositories over an Ubuntu-variant installation or this ISO plus pull the updates. Yes? Or will there actually be a new version of the ISO ever?

Yes, check sum is good! And my down speed is 24 Mb/s. I got the file in 10 minutes. A few people have already started the torrent download I see, sorry I have a cap of about 200kB/s upstream so until a few people have it, it may be slower than sourceforge. Although once a few reliable people have it, it will be much less prone to the ups and downs of sourceforge. (Sometimes 40 k/second, sometime 3MB/second)

Alright, I'm downloading from sourceforge, since it is faster now, but then I'll put that file in the torrent folder so I can help share it.

the torrent also contains the checksum in a folder(as described earlier in thread by falk)

Just to give everyone the heads up, when I tested this, I tested it live off a USB created with Unetbootin. No issues(with the live creation anyway, have already found some minor bugs with the distro.) Great work as usual falkTX!!

This is the ISO for anyone wanting KXStudio "the easy way", and also for anyone wanting KDE as base (I think Kubuntu sucks as a base for multimedia).
The other methods of install are still supported and are advised if the target user doesn't want/like KDE.

There will be no 64bit ISO of 12.04 right now.
A new 12.04.1 ISO will be made once Cadence and other related apps get significant updates.
(64bit will be available too)

damn, sourceforge keeps failing...

until that is auto-resolved, I'll hold the release news.

My Transmission will be running non-stop for days if not weeks with the torrent!

bad news, the ISO I uploaded was broken so I deleted it :(
(target system didn't got a valid user)

I'll try to fix this ASAP.
I already know what causes the issue, but need time for rebuilding and uploading it again. I just feel sad about my poor laptop taking all the stress...
I'll let you know how it goes, sorry about this.

PS: remember that no release announcement was made, so KXStudio never got a 12.04 release yet

Oh wow… I just tested it and the testing seemed to work… what does it mean that there was no valid user? Wouldn't that mean it wouldn't work? Cadence showed user as member of audio group on the live USB…

the live-session works perfectly, but it's the install process that has issues.
ubuntu changed some internals things that I had no idea about, so my 10.04 tricks don't work anymore.

you can still keep the current live-dvd for showing it off, just don't install it.

When I did the install last night, everything seemed to go smoothly. The issue is it doesn't ask for a user and password at install. So when you go to login the first time you can't get past the desktop manager cause there is no user or pass to get u in!

Actually there is, user is 'kxstudio' with no password.
but still not something anyone would want.
