ok, thanks for the confirmation.
but I wonder: does this happen with the stereo-sampler too? (the same plugin has a stereo version)
please run this command and re-try: (perhaps the binary got corrupted somehow?)
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install dssi-example-plugins --reinstall
Hi falktx,
this is just a "me-too" contribution on wolftune's missing-gui issue. I miss Simple Stereo-Sampler's GUI under carla, its parameter view does show up though.
My setup is linux mint 13 maya cinnamon, kxstudio 0.5.0~beta1+git20121004-0~precise1, kernel 3.2.0-23-lowlatency #31-Ubuntu SMP, 64bit, core I7 quad.
Starting carla in a terminal, adding Simple Stereo Sampler plugin and pushing its "show external plugin's GUI" button tells this:
Code: Select all
robert@CENDRINE ~ $ carla
trivial_sampler_qt_gui starting...
Warning: unhandled OSC message in GUI:
arg 0: type 'f':
(path is </Carla/0/sample_rate>)
Pushing the "show external plugin's GUI" button again results in "QProcess::start: Process is already running", which is right, there really exists a process in background:
/usr/lib/dssi/trivial_sampler/trivial_sampler_qt osc.udp://CENDRINE:19671/Carla/0 /usr/lib/dssi/trivial_sampler.so stereo_sampler Simple Stereo Sampler (GUI)
but this GUI process remains invisible.
As above carla message concerns sample_rate, I reconfigured jack from 48000 to 44100, but without effort.
I then tried following, which led to successfully showing up stereo sampler GUI:
Code: Select all
robert@CENDRINE ~ $ jack-dssi-host trivial_sampler.so
jack-dssi-host: OSC URL is:
osc.udp://CENDRINE:10767/dssi/trivial_sampler/stereo_sampler/chan00
host: Ready
trivial_sampler_qt_gui starting...
Warning: unhandled OSC message in GUI:
arg 0: type 'i':
arg 1: type 'i':
(path is </dssi/trivial_sampler/stereo_sampler/chan00/program>)
I then was able to load some wav file with the sampler's GUI, playing the sound via its test button ran OK.
Hope this can help to track the issue. If more info is needed, please drop me a note.
Thanks BTW for this nice work, kxstudio feels quite comfortable with linux mint 13 here, makes quite big appetite on sound experimenting
BYE & good night
