Sorry so late to answer. Yes, the webcam does have audio input.
Thank you.

Hi falkTX,
Has this loopback now been incorporated into Cadence ?

Re: Call for Testing: PulseAudio + Loopback
Sorry this is waking up a "dead" thread, but my wife wants to install Skype on her PC which has KX repos on top of a Mint 17.1 base. ( She uses the PC for music production as well as general work)
What do I need to do to get sound working ?
Is the loopback now working in cadence ?

Thanks for the prompt reply falkTK.
So Skype should "just work" ?
Lets hope so, will save money on keeping in touch with son who has moved abroad for work !

Re: Call for Testing: PulseAudio + Loopback
Sorry to be a pain but I am having problems with the sound on the HP1300 webcam.
The webcam is recognised but nothing shows up in the input side of the sound.
It works fine on my system which is a "standard" Mint 17.1 system (the same as my wifes PC) but without kxstudio repos and hence no jack, just pulse.
How to get the audio side of the webcam recognised ?

Re: Call for Testing: PulseAudio + Loopback
Hi falkTK that doesn't work as cadence and aplay -l does not "see" the webcam.falkTX wrote:you need to add that device to the jack graph, either via alsa_in or zita_a2j.change hw:PCH to whever device id the webcam uses, as seen by cadence or 'aplay -l'Code: Select all
alsa_in -d hw:PCH,0 -j webcam
It shows up on lsusb as Bus 001 Device 004: ID 03f0:e107 Hewlett-Packard
here is output from aplay -l
Code: Select all
aplay -l

Re: Call for Testing: PulseAudio + Loopback
Why does pulseaudio "see it" and use it but not jackaudio ?falkTX wrote:If aplay doesn't see the device, then jack will likely not see it too (and thus can't use it).
Edit. OK seem to have found a workaround. Changed autospawn = yes in ~/.pulse/client.conf and disabled jack server at startup. Can now select the microphone on webcam as input for skype calls and when not using skype can start jack through Cadence and select the jack clients in the sound settings.
