Re: jackdbus taking 95% of my CPU
Jackdbus always caused me similar problems, my workaround was to not use it. My computer also ends up going into CPU runaway state after a couple of hours of using jackd2, I unfortunately don't know of a solution. Perhaps use jackd1.

Re: jackdbus taking 95% of my CPU
I was having a similar issue with my UbuntuStudio 14.04+KXStudio repo setup: http://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=12936
I couldn't find a way around it, so I completely reinstalled a new setup, this time Kubuntu 14.10+KXStudio repos. It happens much less frequently now, and not as bad when it does. But it does still happen; I'm still exploring.

Re: jackdbus taking 95% of my CPU
Since disabling jackdbus I don't seem to be experiencing this issue any longer but it is also possible that the fix was related to some other action.
I cannot be certain any longer because I changed and tried so many things.
What seems to work for me:
jack2, qjackctl or starting jack from a terminal
Presumably jack1 will also work OK but I don't make use of it so don't know.
Note - If jackdbus is disabled you won't be able to use Cadence any longer and will need a tool like qjackctl or to start jack from the terminal.
To disable jackdbus:
Reboot
Should you want to re-enable it again just move it back to its original filename and reboot.

To disable jackdbus:
Code: Select all
cd /usr/share/dbus-1/services
mv org.jackaudio.service old.org.jackaudio.service.backup
